No surprise if they slowly eliminate .22 rifles and 50m ranges, replacing with Air 3P and Prone in the future Olympic programs.j-team wrote:..."why do they need .22 rifles at all?".

'Air Rifle Specifications. The current limitation on how low the butt-plate may be extended was eliminated (was 220 mm below the centerline of the bore). No part of the butt stock between the butt plate and pistol grip may be more than 140 mm below the centerline of the bore. ' Are the wooden stocks...

Number of Olympic Style Shooters in the World
Helo,
Is there any study or documents that estimate how much people are practicing Olympic Shooting and shooting sports in general around the World?
I mean not only ISSF registered at their database, but adding clubs, schools, etc.

Thank god she is in a stable condition. We hope she will recover from this.
I live in Rio. This is a big issue. We really have serious social problems due to bad politics.
Rio is still a beautiful and big city and We truly hope we will offer total security for tourists and athletes during the Games.

Re: ISSF Report - Summary of IOC Sports Department - ISSF Mt
@ FabioRifleRio that's nonsense, sending home after 6 shots? You should join the ISSF, you'll fit right in. This is a concept. The total amount of shots of course must be well thinked e developed. (May be only four finalists doing more shots or so). In my oppinion, there's no "sending home aft...

Re: ISSF Report - Summary of IOC Sports Department - ISSF Mt
I have a suggestion for shooting finasl that mix two "concepts": 1 - Give some deserved advantage for the best scores in Qualifications. 2 - Using the "ruled out" rule during finals. it simple, it is a duel mode: A- The 8 best scores enter the finals doing duels: The first agains...

... b) some competitor was trying (again!) to evade the chest rest rules by taping a huge weight to the rear of the stock and claiming that it was within the dimensions of the stock. Is this Feinwerkbau accessorie weight, screwed to the lower part of the stock, permitted? http://www.pyramydair.com/...

Re: ISSF Rule Interpretations
Hello, Crazy question: The setup like photo below ( Daria Vdovina, RUS) very commom amongst shooters are permitted as far as I presume. But, If for some reason the Shooter decides to cover this lead weights with a kind of tape to avoid dust or for aesthetics, Is this not permitted??? http://media.ge...

Re: ISSF Rule Interpretations
I think it is only related to "weird" external taped weights. The ISSF text "permanetly attached" is unfortunately written. The special designed weights, attached with screws are ok. My doubt is about weights attached with double-face "hidden" tapes between rifle and we...

Re: ISSF Rule Interpretations
"Weights on Rifles (Rules 7.4.2.6 and 7.4.5 c). These rules describe how and where weights may be attached to rifles. When weights are attached to rifles, they must be permanently attached. Weights may not be taped to rifles. " What this means? The usual car wheel balance lead, widely used...

Re: Please help me from FWB 800x or Walther LG400 Alutec Exp
Both are excellent. I think there are no questions about that. My suggestion is to choose the brand you will find better tecnical assistance and access to spare parts for its maintenance. I personally rely on FWB since 1981... ( Pistol fwb65, rifles 300s, 600, 603 and now P700alu, this one got new i...

Moving Diopter and Front tunnel sideways
Hello, Do you fellow shooters have inputs about shooting in Standing position with the Diopter and Front Tunnel moved sideways to improve one's head position and general balance? I mean using the same eye side of one's hand using this kind of raiser block: http://www.intershoot.co.uk/acatalog/centra...

Re: Sight risers
This is ok within the rules but... In my opinion, this is not cool. The proportions and aesthetics for spectators, to "recognize what is a rifle" is shaded by this kind of setup. The pursuit of a position that brings high scores leave to this awckward looks must have some reasonable limits...

Re: ISSF & Prone
What can be done to develop prone position avoiding an arms race? This is almost impossible to stop the pursue of the best barrel/ammo paranoia amongst elite shooters. So we need to focus on new challenges that do not mean an even more precise rifle and focus on shooting technics and skills. I have ...

Regards lasers, I do believe lead projectiles are problematic & one day in the long term future they will be dealt with. You could also throw in firearms security, customs & freight, insurance and firearms licensing into that same pot. Would be a sad day though. Yes, it must be a sad "...
