Re: New AP shooter needs advice

When you LP-50 arrives the biggest piece of advice I can give you is to leave things be! Trust me I know! As long as the airgun shoots and advances the magazine reliably you are golden. It is very easy to adjust the trigger out and the reliability goes down the tubes. I screwed mine up so badly that...

Re: New AP shooter needs advice

The LP50 is a mechanical marvel! I own an LP50 compact. I shoot mine mostly at falling plates and sihouette. Each cylinder gives me 80 full power shots. The LP50 is made to eat pellets and can sling some serious amounts of lead down range. I am retired so I shoot for a couple hours each morning, I d...

Re: How are you filling your cylinders?

I fill both Steyr, Feinwekbau and several other PCP tanks personally. The steyr tanks require me to slightly (maybe a 1/4 turn) unscrew the tank after filling to bleed off line pressure to close the valve. Otherwise the entire tank bleeds out when pressure is released from the compressor hose. The a...

Re: How are you filling your cylinders?

You should just have to wait until the line pressure equalizes to the tank pressure. After the line pressure exceeds the tank pressure the valve on your tank will open and begin to fill. After your fill you will need to purge the line pressure to disconnect from the tank

Re: How are you filling your cylinders?

The enemy to any high pressure compressor is heat! Direct fill to guns only take a few minutes and will keep that compressor chugging along for many years, literally the compressor doesnt have time to heat up. Where folks run into trouble is when they start trying to fill large tanks. The compressor...

There are many high quality compressors on the market that are far less expensive than the model you linked. Just a couple options for you to ponder below. The days of $1500 compressors are behind us in the airgun community. http://www.shoeboxcompressor.com/ Shoebox F10 Compressor Price $499 Highly ...

Most of my shooting is done with my LP50 shooting falling plates and silhouette. She sure can eat up a tin of pellets in a hurry!

Re: How are you filling your cylinders?

I purchased a FX hand pump in 2002 when I bought my first PCP rifle and continued to use that pump until a few years ago, nothing wrong with it. The price of compressors have significantly dropped over the last few years and there are many low cost options available. $1000 used to be the cheapest op...

Re: Pump it, baby!

It uses a common Foster fitting. Easily adaptable for all PCP applications. I used an original FX hand pump for 15 years to fill my PCP rifles and pistols. Hand pumps certainly get the job done, but not easily. Last year I purchased a shoebox compressor. Best $500 i ever spent! We now shoot 6-8000 p...

Re: Anschutz LP50 opinion

For 15 years I hand pumped my PCP rifles and pistols. My FX pump is still going strong to this day. Last christmas I purchased a shoebox compressor. My PCP airgun shooting went from a chore to fun. I no longer dread filling tanks. The world of PCP airguns is seeing a huge hay day right now. Compress...

Re: Anschutz LP50 opinion

We use our LP-50 compact for silhouette and falling plate shooting. It is the most fun I've had in years with an airgun. Each cylinder gets 80 consistent shots, and with 5 shot magazines the shooting goes fast! Is the LP-50 a fine German air pistol? Yes. Is the trigger as glass smooth as a 10M targe...

Re: Hämmerli AP20 Pro - reliable?

What rimfire pistol discipline are you shooting? For bullseye the grip on most precision 10M Air Pistols will be very different. The Steyr LP-50 has a 1911 grip that can be installed. I own an LP-50 and my daughter and I put 6-8000 pellets a month through it shooting silhouette and falling plates. I...

Re: LP50 Compact Cycling issues

Update: I finally got the funds to send my LP-50 into Pilk Guns for service. Air pistol arrived Monday and received an invoice Thursday informing me everything was back in working order again. Very reasonable price, much less than I had expected. When you buy a Ferrari even a headlight costs an arm ...

LP50 Compact Cycling (Issue Resolved)

Bought a used LP50 compact back in February. Have been putting 6-8000 pellets through it per month trouble free. Lately the first shot is full power and each additional shot loses pressure, until eventually the bolt fails to lock back and air is heard escaping until the bolt is manually cocked again...

Keep looking, you won't be dissapointed

Early this summer we found a gently used FWB 700 Alum on the board here. The rifle is for my teenage daughter. The rifle is awsome! The stock has so many adjustments that anyone can find a perfect fit. I love shooting the rifle myself. You will pay close to new price for a used rifle because general...

Devin airgun biathlon target

http://www.devinmfg.com/targets1.html

I purchased one of the targets from Devin manufacturing. The target is extremely well constructed for a very fair price. I use mine for plinking only, but i can see how a target such as this could be used for training.
