Cleaning walnut grips

The walnut grips on my H208 and my K14 are both showing the effect of 40 years of accumulated dirt, oil and sweat.
I would be grateful for any advise on cleaning the grips without damage or warping.

Re: Olympic Pistol Grips

Forgive me for going off topic but when they test trigger weight at a competition, do they test a dry fire pull or with an empty chamber discharge of air? With my own crude testing device on my 46m, dry fire mode is a little lighter than a discharge of air. I'm curious how the trigger mechanism kno...

What math is involved in Electroshock Therapy? Some connection to the infamous Milgram Experiment, perhaps.
Love it!
I admit I had never made the connection (no pun intended).

Re: Disappearing posts

I am a guilty party. It is interesting that the number of obviously spam posts has decreased dramatically from the situation a few years back. Four or five years ago David and I were deleting several threads each day. As fellow ISSF Judges, David and I shared an interest in the mathematics involved ...

Re: Measuring trigger pull on a diagonal trigger without a notch

Difficult, one option is to tilt the barrel back until the weight knife edge will sit on the middle of the trigger finger pad. Not really a good option but may get you through a local competition with some argument... 8.4.2 The weight of the trigger pull must be measured with the test weight suspen...

Re: Free Pistol 50m target height

0.75 +/- 0.50m is a compromise to cope with standing, kneeling and prone. A LONG time ago it was 0.50 +/-0.75m. 0.5 - 0.75 = -0.25 Did they use to place target under the ground? This for sure would make shooting challenging and interesting :) Ranges where the ground slopes away from the firing line...

Re: Hammerli International 208

From TargetTalk http://targettalk.org/viewtopic.php?t=38221 One of the things I noticed is that the trigger was just over 3 lbs, around 3.25. Since I plan on using this for Bullseye and ISSF matches, I'd like to get it down to 2.2lbs. Looking at the instructions on Pilkguns I tried to adjust the scr...

Re: Oiling Top Round in Semi-Auto Magazines?

For those that oil the top round:
  • What oil do you use?
  • How much?
Where do you put the oil -
  • a/ on the projectile
  • b/ at the projectile/case junction
  • c/ on the case?

Re: Does anyone know the cost of an Electronic Target System

i am not sure end user can do this test. to calculate the spaced holes you need to know how much the target moved the roll between shots. Aha! Construct 0,0 from the x,y coordinates for a number of consecutive shots and measure the advance between shots. For 10m EST there is a different advance for...

Re: Does anyone know the cost of an Electronic Target System

side question about electronic targets: has anyone tested their electronic target? meaning to put a real paper target behind the black roll and see if the scores/shot impacts reported by the system are identical to the holes in the paper target? can anyone using an electronic target, please do this...
