A lot of people thing that Judges are no longer shooters - I am, even if very poorly these days, and get withdrawal symptoms if I have to go more that 4 or 5 days without some range therapy. I love it when someone asks me "do you still shoot yourself?" Gives an opening for the reply "...

which leaves us in the 'agree to disagree' situation... however, we (the sport) have a responsibility to provide a safe environment - do away with the anti-doping requirements and we start to chip away at the safe environment Nicole's sweeping " I guess you expect only athletes taking drugs you...

LEDs

The Sius Ascor system uses an array of LEDs wired in parallel - shoot a light and you will only take out one or two.

For 'club' use the Sydney range has added a layer of lexan over each light to provide an additional level of protection.

Back when I was shooting IPSC and IDPA, I faced a similar problem - glasses that would allow me move around and identify targets to shoot at; and glasses that would allow me to focus on the front sight when shooting. I opted for glasses with the left lens for distance, the right lens for the sight,...

re Rob's - I don't quite follow that. Shooting glasses make you near sighted so as to focus on the foresight. That should therefore make it much easier for you to see the pellets not more difficult. I'm with Colin (gasp!), in the shooting position the sights are about 1 m away, when loading about 20...

For every up-side there is a down-side?

According to an acquaintance (a well respected coach), many years ago one of the international teams was using individually measures doses of alcohol to get the up-side which lasts about 2 hours - there was a delay in starting the match and they ended up finishing the match in the down-side, with di...

Having in the last week been through the exercise of stripping and servicing five cylinders... The cyinders that had been on the pistol (and the rifle) has no sign of problems. The 'spare' cylinders (i.e. stored off the firearm) audibly leaked when filled - subsequent examination revealed all three ...

TinTam's original post referred to a "recent competition" - I took that as being 2006. Munich, Milan and Zagreb were on EST.

as one of those who find that the stars in the night sky are out of focus as they are too close, I comment LUCKY YOU (with absolutely no sarcasm intended) - with a little correction you can keep the front sight in focus all the time.

8.6.3.1.2.2 ...Such claims cannot be made in the last 30 minutes of the competition except in unusual circumstances.

(sorry Rob, the competition, not the match) I still would like to know which competition - as this was on paper targets, obviously not a WC or the W Champs

B***** Hell! Will nobody tell us which competition?

Or, is this meant to be another one of these 'I heard of..' / "I think...' / "My next door neighbour's sister in law's friend..." examples of holy writ?

cannot readily lay my hands on 2001/1st printing; the 2001/3rd printing said "...This should be the next target", not 'must'. 'Should', 'may' and 'must' are interesting words in the ISSF rules. Certainly the next target makes things much easier for the Classification Office personnel. one ...

Perhaps... certainly if the shooter had already fired one shot too many on a previous target, the penalty would apply in other words not nough information for there to be a clear black-and-white answer. 1.
