Will all the results, and some photos be shown here?
I am sure I am not the only one who would be interested!
Some friends from Oz will be competing there.

Pistol Shooters uniform regulations

Recently I hurt my back, and at a Club competition I wore an elastic back support. I was told it was illegal to use it without a medical certificate. the range officer pointed out that under the ISSF rules it was not permitted. I wonder why women, who wear bras, are allowed them! Are they not suppor...

Sighting Differences

My wife is also a pistol shooter, and we share some pistols. She is still a good shooter. However does anyone else, who shares a gun with a partner, have a problem with the sights? We find that she needs to adjust the sights 9 clicks on the Walther GSP, and 16 clicks on the Steyr Air Pistol , as she...

Oxidized Pellets

I have a sizer pack from England, that is a few years old, now. It says that it repairs damaged pellets, as you press them through the sizer. It is a round shape, and holds 50 pellets in groups of 5. The sizer is made in brass, and is in the centre of the gadget, with the pellet holder surrounding i...

Oxidized pellets

My suggestion, from Down-under, is to have an old sock, fill with the pellets, use some WD40 to spray the sock. roll and squeeze the sock, to make sure the WD40 gets to the pellets. Leave it for a day,to dry out, and you should find they have come back to a reasonable condition. However, after you u...

Gun counts from Athens World Cup

I would be interested to know how many of these air pistols and Free Pistols have electronic triggers. Also, how many Air pistols had compressed air, and how many had CO2.? Were any pistols rejected at gun check? This was a very interesting breakdown of pistols. Now we need to know what was the most...

Flying with an air pistol

I have a Steyr LP 10 Compressed air pisatol. When flying, should I empty the cylinders completely, or leave some air in them?
If the latter, how much air do you leave?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Athens Olympic Venues

I have just seen, in today's paper, a quote by Russell Mark that the ranges are finished for the very basics, but the people are working very hard to make improvements. When I watched (on the ISSF TV Video)some of the World Cup events held there, it was quite a good effort. It seems there will be so...

Athens World Cup

Thank you, Patrick, for the excellent photos. I have managed to view the videos of the finals on the Australian shooting site. Obviously it was well presented, but it only showed the fall of shot on the targets, and the score. There was no sound with it. Your photos are so very clear. I wish I owned...

Best wishes to the Canadian guys who are off to Athens , and to anyone else going there, too. If you meet up with the Aussies say Hi from down-Under. (Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) On the radio this morning, it was remarked that the venue most likely to be ready in time was the P...

Athens Shooting Ranges

I read, this morning, in the newspaper, an article quoting Russell Mark, who is currently in Athens for the World Cup events. Apparently, the ranges are not finished - the rifle and pistol ranges are about 75% completed, but the trap range is only anot 55% ready. You cannot drive to the range, as th...

Thanks for the update about the range. Now I need to work out how to get the Cairo shooting event in "Real time" here on my PC. Also I believe the World Cup at Athens will be available, too. Any suggestions as to how I can receive it on my PC would be very welcome. 3 ladies and one man in ...

Athens shooting range

I have visited the Athens Olympics site, and found the picture of the shooting ranges. Wow! If they are going to hold a match theree in a couple of weeks, they need to get a move on!!! It looks, by the photo taken in Feb. like a new construction site, cut out from the hills. I hope there is no torre...

Grips

On most of my grips I have Stiplex applied. It is a coating of fine cork grains, and it stops the hand slipping when it perspires. I did it myself, with the varnish going on the grip first, and while it was still wet, I sprinkled on the cork grains. If you cannot get Stiplex, you can use walnut shel...

Thank you, Tom, for your support. Obviously, some folks have plenty of money to throw away! The ISSF recommendation committee needs looking into, and a more democratic way of doing things shown them! They seem to think that because they have been elected to the position, they should do the job witho...

Hi, Tom, Thank you for an excellent letter. Sorry to hear you decided to give the sport away, however, I have been competeing since 1956, and you can bet your life I am not going to give up, and let "them" win! I was taught to compete in a fair manner, and I believe that this website and d...

Thanks for the correspondence about this subject. It has been interesting to hear the opinions of others. I am told that the reason for the change is that the existing Olympic Pistol Shooting programme has to be cut back before the China Olympic Games, which also happened after the Atlanta Games. A ...

Rapis Fire after the Olympics.

I wonder what the International body is going to cook up regarding the thousands of redundant Rapid Fire Pistols when they change the rules after the Olympics. Are we going to use them as sinkers for fishing? My suggestion is that we should sent an invoice to the ISSF body for a pistol buy-back. Obv...

32/38 discussion

This has been a very interesting discussion. I has been interesting to hear the various opinions from all over. I hope this has answered the initial query - or has it muddied the waters further?! :)
I was pleased to be able to participate in this discussion.
Good luck,
