I feel that any aid should be water, food, and shelter to the people before they worry about oil. I know it is important for transport in these devastated areas, but immediate aid to keep people alive should be the first priority. As to the tsunami aid - well, the millions of $s are sitting there an...

Old Walther GSP Cocking Piece

A friend has an old Walther GSP .22 with a square barrel, that has a broken cocking piece, - the pin and spring has broken in half. We have been on to the company in Germany, but they have none left, and no longer make that type. We have also contacted Frontier Arms here in Australia, who cannot hel...

Here in Australia, the qualifying standard for the Nationals is limited to the capacity of the range. You have to provide your highest score for they year, and the Organizers fill the range from the highest scores downwards. If a shooter is entering more events he/she will get preference. This is an...

Air Cylinder Refill

I am almost 72 years old, and I use a pump to refill my air cylinders. I have no problem pumping the cylinders (I have 2) to 200 bar. I refill them after every match. My wife uses my pistol, too, and I do the filling for her, too. I suggest you get a pump, and have a bit of a work-out. the excersize...

I suggest using egg cartons. Over here in Oz, they are made from recycled paper products - they are a cardboard type carton pressed into shape to support a dozen eggs. There are some cartons that are larger, but more like trays. These fixed to the walls and ceiling would help deaden any noise. A mor...

Can anyone help me with an evaluation of the Steyr Free Pistol, please? I have a vintage Hammerli 106, which has worked hard for the last 30 years (at least). There is one person in my Club who has a Steyr Free Pistol for the last 3 or 4 years. However he is not the best person to evaluate this gun....

Has anyone heard of a GSP Expert barrel being but on to an older gun? - 10 - 12 years old. The reason I am asking is that the 'Expert has a recoil absorber. My barrel is a square barrel, but when I look at photos of the GSP Expert, it looks like the barrel is round. I would be interesed to hear any ...

Small Powder charge....

Hi, Regarding you small charge, and using 231 winchester powder, at 1.7 load:- Here in Australia we usually only use 1.5 or 1.6 max. load, with a hollow base waxed projectile. The speed velocity reads approx. 690 - 700 ft/sec which we find, for 25 metre Centre Fire event is very accurate. Also, we u...

Indoor Air Range.

Most of the answers here have provide a range of ideas for you. I have not built one myself. However, we have a number of Clubs that have a similar arrangement, which operated about 15 bays, with one large battery. A battery charger is near by. You don't need a special arrangement to stop the target...

Indoor Air Pistol Range

Hi, I would like to make a couple of suggestions to use for your indoor Air Pistol Range. 1) Maunal operation - buy a large hand grinder, and adapt it work a pulley. as it can work backwards and forwards, to send the targets both ways.. It can be adapted to either left or right hand. The target hold...

Rubber buffers for Walther GSP.22

A number of shooters I know, have a rubber buffer in their .32GSP. They shoot very well at both 25m and 50m. They claim the buffer helps the recoil. The buffer is fitted in between the slide end and the spring. My question is - has anyone tried to fit a buffer to a GSP .22, which would help the reco...
