Best Loads for a .38...

Hi, Spencer, Sorry to hear you are having trouble with your load. I was given some .32 projectiles (West coast) similar to yours. I am not sure if they were teflon coated, or what the coating was, but I found that they were not very accurate in the Walther. However, regarding a .38 - for a single ac...

Axsor Air Pistol pump.

I have had my pump for 4 years, but recently I seem to have a problem with filling the cylinder. When I use the pump, it sometimes feels as if there is some air coming back to the pump which is lifting the handle piece. It must be the ball valve, or it is not sealing somewhere. I have been using ver...

Looking for help for Pardini

Hi, I know a number of people here in Oz that have a similar gun, and they have found it works very well. However many of them have been told to leave the gun as it is - as it came from the manufacturer, and use it for at least a year before you make any changes. My suggestion to remove the screw is...

USA Visit

Thank you, Steve and Bill for your replies. We would be there for just a week, as my wife would be involved with the Lacemaking Convention held in Tulsa next August. We would be visiting from Denver, where our daughter lives. I visited a Club in Denver, when were there last year, and Paul F. took me...

USA Visit

I am tentatively planning a trip to USA for next year, with my wife, who is also a shooter. We only shoot the ISSF events. Are there any Pistol Clubs in Tulsa, Oklahoma? If so, do they welcome Australian visitors? We will Not be carrying firearms with us - that is in the Too-Hard basket!!, but we wo...

Walther GSP .22

I have an early model .22 GSP, with a coil recoil spring. This is a similar spring to the one fitted in a .32 GSP. Are the 2 springs identical in their strengths? The reason I ask is I would like to lighten up the one in my .22, so it can take a less punchy ammo. I am not shooting International comp...

Cleaning an A.P

The cleaning pellets used by most shooters, is VFG No.501 You "Shoot the Barrel Clean". You do not use oil on the patch. Just put it in the barrel, like you load an air pellet, and fire it . On the outside of the gun you can use a rag to remove any grime. That is all that is necessary. Thi...

How to train for RF at home?

Hi. I made my own set of R/F targets to use at home, which I use with an electronic switch magnet. It operates on the normal house power. I have a One Minute clock, which has a disc fitted to the end of the motor. The disc is made up like a cam, and each cam has a micro switch. The cam is set to the...

AP Cases

Have a look at :- http://www.stormcase.com/ for some similar cases, but they are a bit cheaper! I suggest buying a yellow or orange colour, as it is easier to identify if you are thinking about travelling around. I would get a case that was bigger than just for one gun. Also, if you intend to buy it...

Ist proper competition

Mike, We have been competing for many years. Everyone has a certain progression. You obviously intend to move to the next level, and you state that the facilities at your club are not as good as you will get at Bisley. Look at the positive side - you will have better light, better postition, and a hi...

Greetings from DownUnder

In July I took a trip to Denver, Colorado, and met up with some Target Talk shooters. I was taken out to their Club, Arvarda, and they provided me with everything I needed to have a shoot with them. I was very pleased with their friendship towards a totally unknown person from the Internet, who was ...

Muzzle velocity for FWB 65

We have a Model 65, and a few at the Club. I do my own repairs. It could be the paper used for the targets, or the barrel seal - part no. 16.122.3 on their parts number sheet. Our gun was made in 1978 or thereabouts. with this model there could be one main spring, or on the Model 80 there are 2 spri...

Relaods - a Dilemma

Hi, Paul, Nice to see you are back from overseas. My suggestion, which we do here Downunder, is to have 1.5+gr . We use WST Winchester powder, with 98gr hollow base, waxed projectiles, slightly crimped. Speed is 670 - 680f/sec. We use a size 312 projectiles. What I suggest - when you load your powde...

Dry-firing with a Model 65

I wonder if anyone has a similar problem to us. My wife has a FWB Model 65 Air Pistol which she uses successfully in competition. However, she is unable to dry-fire, as the rules state that there must not be any release of air or gasses during preparation time. It is not practical to go to a Safe Ar...

World/Olympic Records in Teams events

Does anyone know World and Olympic records for the Teams events?
We get to hear Individual records, but never Team records.

I know they hold Team events, so why don't we get to hear of any records?

What countries hold the ISSF records in the Teams events?

Thanks.

Sighting for Rapid fire events

I use a Walther GSP, and when shootint Rapid fire with the old OSP (Old rules) I used very fine sights. Now, under the new rules, and a pistol with a lot more recoil, should I have bigger sights with a larger gap? What is the recommended sight configuration? Perhaps some of you top grade shooters ca...
