Re: Consistent sight picture
I am having this same problem with lack of consistency in the clearness of the bull, my age is 41. It seems for any one shot, the bull will be clear, and for the next shot it may be fuzzy, sometimes the fuzziness is bad enough that it even doesn't look perfectly round, and I'm left to somewhat guess...

What happens when the front aperture is too big?
It is of course possible to go too small on the front aperture, and you can get an optical illusion where it still looks like you have a ring of white around the target, but light rays are bending. But what happens if you go to big? Let's say that the "charts" recommend 4.2, what would hap...

KK300 anatomic stock? Don't know about availability or price of this option, I just know it's a good stock.

Re: Visor Touching with Rear sight
Hi, I asked this question recently to the ISSF directly via email, because the rules state that it is prohibited. The reply I got from the ISSF is that the rule is correct, stands as currently written, and it will be enforced as required. Even though in any youtube ISSF match footage you will see vi...

Prone is also happening at the World Champs later this year in Korea, but similarly to the Grand Prix above, there is no final.

Sorry, I meant to say that they wanted to reduce the number of athletes.

Re: ISSF & Olympics Dropped 50m Prone
This has been discussed on here previously, do a search. Yes it is disappointing, of course they could have ADDED Women's prone, but that wouldn't achieve the IOC's goal of reducing the number of sports so that they could introduce new "sports". The IOC wanted to remove some sports/events ...

Re: Wall anchors for 22LR dry firing
I have no desire to find out what it might do to my $4500 setup. And I want to simulate loading anyway.Rover wrote:Unless your firing pin is peening the chamber mouth, don't worry about it.

Re: Wall anchors for 22LR dry firing
Yep have thought about that too, pulling the bolt apart would be a pain, a second bolt with a shortened firing pin is probably a good, but expensive solution. Also really you want "something" to put in to replicate the process of loading.

Re: Wall anchors for 22LR dry firing
You can also dry fire with spent rounds. Joel yep well aware of that, but they're too hard/fiddly to get into the chamber, they expand when fired, and while surely possible to re-insert, it's to fiddly for my fingers. I was going to try with 17HMR spent rounds, because they are a necked down 22WMR ...

Wall anchors for 22LR dry firing
Hi all, can anyone direct me to an online source for plastic wall plugs that are known-good to fit and eject in place of a live round? I want these for dryfire practice, and I cannot find any locally which cycle correctly with the ejector. I have tried a couple of different ones which don't work at ...

Re: High riser block use
For 3P, use three sets of risers, and 3 sets of sights (and three buttplates and three cheekpieces). This aids quick changeover and not worrying about re-zero. Not strictly necessary of course, just easier. In terms of the height of the risers, forget what other people have and put whatever you need...

Re: unexplained large vertical errors
I'm not saying your bolt is the cause, but have you disassembled it and cleaned it anyway? I clean mine as best as I can by spraying Balistol/wiping every time, but I fully disassemble it for cleaning after every thousand rounds or so, which at the moment is about every 4 weeks! They get pretty nast...

Re: Glueing Top Grip on Buttplate
I had one dot that was always falling off, I would just press it back in and soon after it would come out again. Eventually I lost it, so I ordered some more and stuck one on with super glue, it hasn't moved since.

Plastic vs glass front apertures
Hi all, I note that there are available plastic front inserts, and so-called "hi-end" glass inserts. What's the consensus on if there is a difference in sight picture when using these supposedly better glass units?

Re: rear iris centering mirror
The mirror doesn't slip on, it screws on. You're supposed to NOT be able to see your pupil. You can still see the rest of your eye "around" the pupil (exactly how much depends on how close you are). I used one for ages, have recently removed it to try a coloured ring instead. I think it's ...
