Re: Ambidextrous rifle

Putting a leftie grip on a Kk300 does not make it left handed, the bolt is still on the wrong side. Ive used a BSA Martini as a lefty, handedness was fine, maybe they were good in their day as a cadet training rifle but the one I used was a piece of crap. I didnt expect much from a fifty year old ri...

Re: Using non single shot for competition

You will find some rifles (like Anschutz 64MPR) can have a special red magazine dummy inserted which turns them into single-shot chamber load. So basically the rifle configuration has to be mechanically bound to single shot only.

Minor costs compared to the prices of some of these rifles!

Re: I'm a newby, and I'm thinking of buying a Walther KK500

For rifle shooting there isn't the same need to aim with the dominant eye as with shotgun. The target doesn't move. So long as the dominant eye is covered (dark blinders appears to work better than the normal translucent), and the vision in the non-dominant eye is good/correctable with a lens, you ...

Re: I'm a newby, and I'm thinking of buying a Walther KK500

Well now I am even more confused about what to do. The dominant eye test shows that I am right-eye dominant (who knew?), but I am left handed. When you are a kid and people show you something / you learn something for the first time you tend to be shown the way they know how. Consequently for one-ha...

Re: I'm a newby, and I'm thinking of buying a Walther KK500

Modena, Before you go and outlay a small fortune on a KK500 one thing you might want to check as a beginner is which is your dominant eye. I say this because if your still relatively new to this sport and haven't outlayed on a flash jacket yet you might find that you think you're a lefty but have a...

Re: I'm a newby, and I'm thinking of buying a Walther KK500

Resale is your primary criteria for the rifle you select? There is strong secondary market for an Anschutz and left handed rifles go quickly; in the US anyway. If you buy top end in a small market, the next generation will significantly impact your resale value. Mark Resale is not the primary crite...

I'm a newby, and I'm thinking of buying a Walther KK500

No, I am not mad. There's a good reason. I'm left handed, and if it turns out that after a year or so that I do not want to pursue this sport then I can sell the KK500 to any left or right handed shooter and they would just need a right handed grip. Is re-sale a good enough reason to go for a KK500?...

Re: What rifle should I buy?

Great question. This is where I will find myself very soon also I suspect, and when I come to buy a rifle that list is pretty much where I got to in my thinking. Leaning towards a KK300 Alutec. Personally I want to steer away from an Anschutz, mainly because everyone else has one and I think too muc...

Hello, new member in Australia

Hello all, Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. My name is Ben and I am in Melbourne, Australia. I am getting in to prone 22LR. I wanted to do this years ago but a bunch of things meant it wasn't really possible, but now it is! I am 39 years of age. I will be attending my first club shoot as ...
