Re: Recommended pistol for a novice
pistol doesn't matter if you're starting out. Your preferences will only be visible after you consistently put half of your shots into the 10 (equals the score of 570). Here you already know how to shoot a ten and it's here that you experiment with grips and do a pellet test etc. I would recommend a...

Re: ISSF Report - Summary of IOC Sports Department - ISSF Mt
randy1952 is a 100% correct in his reply 5 posts above this one. people don't know about shooting being an Olympic sport. Yes, in my club very few know... they don't know about ISSF shooting, or air pistol shooting competitions even though they own an air pistol or a rifle. I wrote about it in that ...

Re: ISSF Report - Summary of IOC Sports Department - ISSF Mt
if you want it without the jacket, you need to propose a new discipline to the ISSF call it "simple rifle" or something, change the distance to 11 or 12 meters for air to avoid confusion, same rules as pistol shooters regarding clothes, maybe even add minimum trigger weight for fun, bigger...

Re: ISSF Report - Summary of IOC Sports Department - ISSF Mt
Banning jackets, clothes will actually only ruin the rifle discipline.
It's not about tuning the discipline to your liking.

Make Shooting Great Again!
No, not another Trump support thread. It's just a small thing I'd like to ask you to do. This here is a small initiative to increase popularity of shooting sports, especially for younger generations. The youth spends a lot of time on the internet these days, youtube would probably account for a goo...

Re: ISSF Report - Summary of IOC Sports Department - ISSF Mt
again, give me one event I can organize and I'll make it watchable, unlike the ISSF videos where there's absolutely nothing to look at. Look how well archery is presented. Wow, you can actually see the hits... The actual format has little to do with view count (2 series of 3 shots of course add to t...

Re: ISSF Report - Summary of IOC Sports Department - ISSF Mt
The guy from Georgia has got a clue: the ISSF doesn't know how to make Finals interesting. Everything they do in fact only hurts the Finals (and I think I could read it between the lines!). He actually mentions the exact same points I had made in my posts (I believe in this thread), like sending ath...

thanks for reviews guys and pictures, Igor, the breech lever area looks very well done!!! With my LP10e I can also adjust the grip to the point where I can't cock the lever any more. If you angle your barrel to the right inside the grip, you'd also need a quarter turn of the two screws that are on t...

Re: Morini 84E Front Sight Blade Height for 50 Ft Targets
if they are scaled correctly, you use the same one as for 50 meters. I'm not familiar with B11 targets.
The black 7 ring is 20cm, so on 50 feet it should be around 6cm, or a little over 2 inches.

Re: Adjusting pistol during competition?
In air pistol each time you see athletes grabbing a screw driver, they're not adjusting for windage and elevation, they're adjusting the width of the rear sight. As for windage and elevation, if one click makes you feel better do it, but you can't adjust based on previous 10 shots, that's just nonse...

food grade silicone grease for the O-rings ballistol for surface and visible moving parts, but don't lube anything inside remove the barrel once a year and lube the part that goes into body with ballistol. I even had some rust in there, that was easily wiped off with ballistol soaked cloth and it's ...

I've yet to meet any competitor or spectator who thinks that paper targets provided a better experience. because you failed to use reason and give an appropriate answer you chose to outsource your opinion to people who only know well organized, electronic competitions and low cost paper club shooti...

Re: Industry - Summary of Proposed 2017-2020 ISSF Rules Chan
Sorry Randy, but writing to the ISSF will not help. See Rapid Fire rule changes from 2005, which killed its popularity. Not everyone can drop $3000 on a Pardini and just as much a year on Eley to be competitive. They make changes only because they like to think they're in charge, and for absolutely ...

Re: Odds of Free Pistol Being Cancelled; Effect on Competiti
The spectators have never been so close in the match since the electronic score boards were introduced. We all know that shooting is not a spectator’s game as is e.g. football or boxing, but with the electronics it can be followed closely. Actually, paper was much better. They used to film bullet h...

SAM M10 O-Ring
Hello, I am looking for the O-Ring on the SAM M10 air pistol. On their manual it says number 1202. In the manual there is no dimensions for the O-ring. The company does not respond to emails (obviously). I'd be happy to know the dimensions of the O-Ring. It's inner diameter is slightly under 3mm and...

Also, what's with this new argument of skill crossover required for FP and AP??? Why does it matter? Look at Swimming, Michael Phelps 8 Gold medals in 2008 . You can't do it in shooting, even with a sex change operation between the events. The difference between FP and AP is far greater than between...
