Re: TEC HRO "Rapid" sight elevation kit -- anyone seen this?

Great question... it looks like it has detents. If you look at the front sight in the picture below, there are small dimples in the metal spaced at regular intervals.

TEC HRO "Rapid" sight elevation kit -- anyone seen this?

http://tec-hro.de/schiesssport/en/aiming/372-tec-hro-rapid-sight-elevation-sight-rising.html Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kY3ZwXr2SQ Looks like this is available through Creedmoor, McKenna, and a few other UK/European vendors. Anyone had any experience with this kit? Most vendors sell it ...

Question on sight riser blocks

I have my front and rear 7020 series sights mounted directly on my Anschutz 1907 barrel. This feels fine in prone, but in offhand it's a different story. When I'm standing and holding the rifle in a comfortable and sustainable hold, I have to bend my neck uncomfortably to look through the sights, wh...

DIY "quick adjust" knobs for Anschutz 18xx and 19xx stocks?

The newer aluminum stocks like the Anschutz Precise allow the shooter to make a lot of adjustments without the use of tools. Anschutz offers a few knobs that can be installed on the 2213 series stocks that gives them more quick-adjust functionality. knobs_2.jpg The older 18xx and 19xx stocks aren't ...

Can anyone share a closeup picture of how the butt hook assembly is fastened onto the black plate, looking from the stock backward? Can I use standard hardware-store metric nuts, or do I need something special?

Re: Anschutz 18xx / 19xx parts interchange questions

Tim, thanks for the epic reply! Lots of great info. :) Let me make sure I'm understanding everything... If the holes in the stock are vertical, a newer carrier will not fit properly, and vice versa. OK, that's reassuring--it looks like this stock has offset holes, so it will work with a newer carrie...

Anschutz 18xx / 19xx parts interchange questions

UPDATED after some late-night research :) Hey guys, I have an older left-handed Anschutz 1907 from the late 1990s. The cheek and butt adjustment are limited due to the shim-based design of the rifle, and I've been looking at economical ways to upgrade the stock without shelling $1900+ for a brand-ne...

Re: Eye issue? Target too blurry to center in front sight..

Another update. I made an interesting discovery at the range last night, which had a massive improvement on the quality of my sight picture! So, as I mentioned in my original post, I have an AHG Anschutz model 9781 rear iris and polarization filter. Since my rifle and equipment was in storage for th...

AHG Anschutz manuals in English via their customer service

Hey guys, I recently contacted ahg Anschutz to get an English translation of the manual for my 9781-S diopter, and they sent one my way in just a few minutes. It's a "real" translation by a human being, much better than what I was getting when I tried to process the German versions through...

Basically, I'd like to see how tightly the shoulders, arms, and cuffs fit. One good picture to get would be a close-up of the cuff area when you're wearing a shooting glove.

Thanks in advance! :)

dc.fireman / Maxicooper -- can you guys share any pictures of the arm and shoulder fitment on these jackets?

The only picture that I've seen on this jacket is this one.

Re: Eye issue? Target too blurry to center in front sight..

A quick update from today's session at the range. Removing my safety glasses definitely helped a bit, and I was very surprised that moving to a larger front aperture helped as well. I threw a 4.0 in there and the target is substantially more circular now. I could probably use to drop down one step t...

Re: Eye issue? Target too blurry to center in front sight..

Thanks for the great feedback guys. I'll tweak my front aperture size, and also get an appointment with an eye doctor ASAP. I've never worn glasses before, but I guess there's a first time for everything...

Eye issue? Target too blurry to center in front sight...

I'm 33, and apparently my vision isn't what it used to be in college... When I'm in position and looking through my sights, I have no problem focusing on my front sight and seeing it clearly. However, when I do, the target isn't just fuzzy like you'd expect--it's also non-circular , which makes it r...

Seconded. Ryan, I wish there had been a podcast like this when I was competing in high school and college. Keep up the great work on and off the range. :)

Recommendations on an "intermediate" 3P adult jacket?

I'm rediscovering 3P smallbore shooting as a hobby, about 10 years after I last shot competitively in college. I'm currently using an old Freeland jacket which I purchased new at commercial row at Camp Perry way back in 1999 as a junior. The jacket is in surprisingly good shape for being so old, but...

Product Review: Kurt Thune Classic Sweater

Shooters today can choose from a variety of sweater options through companies like Anschutz, Kurt Thune, Sauer, Champion's Choice, or other vendors. However, I haven't really seen any product reviews for any of them. So, here's my attempt at a review of the Kurt Thune Classic sweater ... You can cli...
