Time to update this thread. I have added the FWB 2800. Kudos to FWB for coming out with something radically different from their previous rifle. Looks like Anschutz has fallen behind everyone now as far as development. Please see updated first post in this thread.

Re: Anschutz 9003 groups way off center
Hello. Recently I noticed during my training sessions (and probably at least in one competition) that my Anschutz 9003 has off center groupings to the left and down. It's not a very difficult to solve problem (as I can solve it before the end of the sighting shots by adjusting the sights), but I ca...

Re: List of Shooting Competition Associations
For larger matches in Europe, that are not ISSF World Cups, I always consult the calendar from the European Shooting Confederation. They tend to include links for each of the respective National Governing Bodies (NGB). So you should be able to get contact information for each. http://www.esc-shootin...

Re: Olympic quality firearms/air guns manufactured in the US
I was asked that question at leagues this week and all I could do was give them a blank stare and look down at my German rifle. I did a quick search on the forum and didn't come up with anything, so I am now asking the combined brain trust of the site. Who am I not thinking about? Turbo Rifle by Di...

Re: ISSF & Olympics Dropped 50m Prone
Hmmm, I could have sworn they were shooting rifles, not pistols, but I'm sure you're right. It wouldn't be the first time my memory played tricks on me.... :) Yeah, it was definitely laser pistols. https://s13.postimg.org/48zsst0g7/1204759_2.jpg The newish Target Sprint put on by the ISSF uses Air ...

Re: ISSF & Olympics Dropped 50m Prone
I seem to remember "summer biathlon" in the last Summer Olympics, where they replaced skiing with running. That was probably the Run/Shoot stage of the Modern Pentathlon. Nothing to do with the ISSF, they use laser pistols. David you are correct. That was part of the Modern Pentathlon com...

Re: ISSF & Olympics Dropped 50m Prone
Prone is also happening at the World Champs later this year in Korea, but similarly to the Grand Prix above, there is no final. I do enjoy the World Championships. A chance to see all of the shooting events of yesteryear. I would love to shoot 300m, but I can't afford to take on another discipline....

Re: ISSF & Olympics Dropped 50m Prone
Sorry if my post caused some discomfort. I did a search but the discussions were back in 2017 & 2016 and didn't mention much about the ISSF World Cup events which still had the 50m prone throughout 2017. Now it's here. 2018 and the ISSF events don't have 50m prone. It used to be fun to watch, s...

Re: NRA directors elections
Kim Rhode should be a an obvious choice. Already on the Board but definitely should stay on. Julie Golob, I've known her since before I started shooting smallbore rifle. This was back when I was still active in USPSA and IPSC Pistol Competition. She was always very open and generous and is just a ve...

Re: Flying with your Precision Rifles?
I haven't flown with my rifles in a while so I don't know what new and interesting methods of torture the TSA and airlines have come up with. However above all the number one thing to remember when flying with a bolt action rifle is: TAKE THE BOLT OUT. The torque on the stock when some knucklehead ...

Re: Flying with your Precision Rifles?
Let me add a question to this... I have a 16 year old daughter that I want to send to JO's on her own. She has to take both air and smallbore. I am reading from the airlines that to check a firearm you have to be 18, but I cannot find that requirement on TSA.... Any suggestions or a way around this...

Re: Flying with your Precision Rifles?
As was stated earlier, the initial process is pretty standard. Bring your locked case(s) to the check in counter and let the agent know you are declaring a firearm(s). Some airlines will direct you to a specific counter for firearms handling. At United at LAX, they send you to the Oversize Luggage c...

Re: KK500 buttplate rod extension
The rods you listed will work with the KK500 buttplate and stock. They are no different dimensionally aside from the length and attach to the carrier in the same manner. I've actually tried swapping buttplate between my KK500 and KG400 air rifle just to try certain things out. The firing pin on the ...

Re: Advice on Smallbore rifle
I actually have the suspicion that the 54.30 itself would be discontinued rather than any of the 19xx or 20xx series rifles. The 54.30 isn’t enough of a departure from the previous models and the enthusiasm for the 54.30 is muted at best. What I would have liked is if Anschutz made a new rifle using...

This was shot only at 25 yards. But it's 5 shots, with my KK500 using SK Standard Plus....in the standing position.

Re: KK500 report.
I can attest to my KK500 shooting almost everything very well. I've run Tenex, Center-X, Club, and even super old Federal Ultra Match through it and all have performed well. Maybe its the 6 o'clock firing pin providing consistent ignition. Maybe its the 3 locking lugs. I don't know. It just shoots w...

Re: 10m AP shooting in LA?
Mr. Finell, I too live in Southern California so please allow me to provide you with some information. Air Pistols and Air Rifles are not considered firearms in California. You are correct that a drop test is required for pistols to be approved for sale in California, but Olympic Pistols (Free, Spor...

Re: How to quiet 22 lr rifle, muzzle in box??
You just reminded me of something I saw in Buochs, Switzerland. 300m Rifle Match. The shooters shoot through sound dampening, deadening, absorbing, etc tubes. I don't know what material they were using. Shooters are in a building several meters above the ground. Targets are on top of another building....
