Happy Luger Day (9/19)

Just the motivation everyone needs to dust off a nice service pistol and pay tribute to the venerable 9x19!

Re: walther ssp .22 pistol jamming

I have not trawled through the thread (so I apologise for repetition) - but shot an SSP-E for rapid fire (even though I am not very good). Never a problem - never it shot like clockwork - until the nationals - when suddenly every round jammed / stovepiped - it would not function at all. Very strange...

Re: .32 ACP OAL.

I was rushing to a comp over the weekend and pressed up a few rounds with the 60gr Hornady XTP. I didn't have time to test them off a bag but they shot very nicely (1.7gr VVN310) and they have an OAL of .914 They don't slide laterally in the mag so it looks as if rimlock would not be a problem. Will...

Re: New guy with question

Have you tried an iris? It will stop down and give you a chance to see sights and target with the fore sight in focus (if it works for you)

Re: Pardini HP 32, ammo talk

Hi Emmett, I recently angsted over a press for 32acp. I used a couple of Square Deal Bs which use bespoke Dillon Dies and they do not supply 32acp dies - so I had to buy a new one. I decided to go for the 650, it has flexibility with the extra position (maybe a Mr Bullet feeder in my future for 45 o...

Re: Pardini GT45 (.45 Auto) ammo choice

Greetings, I had one several years ago. It was very fussy when shooting a bullet with a pronounced shoulder. The ejected round would catch on the shoulder causing a malfunction. I did shoot some Remington Factory 185 TargetMaster ammo with no problems. PardiniUSA suggest using a bullet with a "...

Re: Pardini SP new, need part dimension

sorry to offend you - however you mentioned the possibility of nipping down to the hardware store for a $0.50 buy instead of a Pardini part plus postage so I played on that thought. The screw is threaded to the head and my guess is that this is a common screw. Anyway tried to help - sorry it didn't ...

Re: Pardini SP new, need part dimension

Oh dear - don't know what to say... (this is not my area of expertise).. However.... nip down to Home depot and buy an M4 and M5 machine screw 30mm long and one should fit. Take the other back for a $0.50 refund (if the gas is worth it) and then let us know which one fits..... Deal?

Re: Pardini SP new, need part dimension

Correct on the 5mm - my mistake - I grabbed my grip change hex T and got the wrong one (the 4mm is a bit sloppy) so 5mm is correct - my apologies

Re: .32 ACP OAL.

what made you think it was a mistake? Some of the recipes here are way way off and probably typos. For me the load development cycle is short - 1 minute from press to range... and I have a reasonable load going but still could do with a bit of tweaking

Re: .32 ACP OAL.

the loads hold the x at 25 and 10 at 50. The rounds are quite short so the next step will be to shorten the mag a bit by placing a wire in the back. I put the recipe on pg 20 32 acp ammo talk thread

Re: Red dot

They are all types of red dot - different makes and models. They are all variants of a LED emitter (which is red (in general)) and the LED light is reflected into your field of view via an invisible mirror in the internal optics of the sight. Shooting (usually with both eyes open), focusing on the t...

Re: Red dot

You could also look at the HolosunHS403C weighs 94g or so, battery and solar lasts 50K hours (so they say). Their design is pretty aimpoint-like but around $250 or so. They are well machined. I think they are OK (I don't think the zero wonders around) and are very light (if weight is a problem). Wor...
