Hi Rob/ Steve, Thanks for the suggestions. I have talked to the folk in the Canadian shooting circle but havent come across any person who would be ideally suited to help me. To answer some of your queries. The shooting federation of Canada ( SFC ) does have a postion of head pistol coach. The curre...

lp 50 trigger weight adjustment
I recently traded in my lp10 for a lp50 since I wanted to try some multishot drills for AP. The first thing that I found was that the trigger was really not as crisp on the lp50 as the lp10. No big deal I say since I was expecting a repeater to have a more of a rolling release. the second that was t...

Professional Pistol Coaches in the US
I am interested in working with a high level personal pistol ( AP and FP ) coach in prepration for the '08 Olympics. Several folk I have talked to have suggested that I look towards getting an ex national coach from the European countries - however, before I take such drastic steps, ( overcomng the ...

AP final rule
Given the barrage of posts on the ISSF rules .. here is one that I am pondering on. In the AP finals what is the time allowed between the command 'load' and 3-2-1-start. I was competing in the Canadian Air gun Grand prix and was feeling really rushed since the RO was barely giving 5-7 or so seconds....

Save your Money. The Trigger sensor is not very useful. It is a good idea but it is actually very tough to implement well without a pricy load cell. The Rika sensor is more of a toy than a real reliable sensor -it is very sensitive to moisture, how it is attached to the trigger shoe and keeps losing...

Colorado TOP gun shoot ??
I heard rumours of a pistol competition in Colorado where the folks dress up in formal clothes and shoot. There is apparently a sit down dinner right after that. If anoyone has more info please let me know - I have a Tux that is really hungering for wear so if this is for real, I think it would be a...

value of cross training with a different pistol
I shot my Steyr yesterday after almost a year. Compared to my Morini short I found it really heavy going. I was struggling with the pistol most of the time mostly since I found it exceptionally nose heavy and the trigger to be way harder to release. The recoil is obviously less but I have grown used...

thanks for the replies once again. The pictures at Rink and the great text description from funtoz really helped. I have decided the keep the lower loading lever. As I mentioned I did mill out some extra metal so the pistol is about 80 gms lighter. Also ground out the grip at the top wedge between t...

thanks for the replies folks.. I looked at the Toz that Scott had on Pilkguns. Unfortunately, it shows the view from the right side. Would've been nice to see a pic with the grip removed. In the meantime I did some milling to lighten out and reshape the triangular metal insert in the grip around the...

Toz lateral loading lever.
I discussed this with a couple of US shooters at the CDN nationals. Don Nygord made a 'lateral' loading lever for the Tozs that he sold. I am not sure what the exact reasons were but I remember thinking this would improve the balance a little and maybe allow the grip to be pushed forward.( I have sm...

Modified powder bar for square deal B
I also found the small powder bar to give inconsistent results with large flake powers. However, all fast powders need to be flaky so that they provide a large surface area for ignition. The ball powders are typically slower. I took the intermediate powder bar ( the one with the triangle edge slot )...

Free Pistol / AP club around Detroit, MI
Anyone know some good Bullseye clubs around Detroit ? I tried the ones listed on the USA shooting database but it looks like no one shoots ISSF style pistol around Detroit ( gangsta style is more like it ). I have tried some of the commercial pay per use ranges but its a long shot to try shooting FP...

Partick , try Xvid - that is probably the best comrpession algo available yet. It does go back to the fact that you need a player that supports it. But exceptionally good open source players exist. Mplayer and BSplayer to name two. http://www.xvid.org http://www.mplayerhq.hu/homepage/design7/news.ht...

the Morini grip compound is great but pretty expensive. After I finished a can of the Morini compound, I was using plastic wood but that sets in hours ( air drying ). At a local FP match someone suggested a 2 part wood filler available at the Building Box ( havent seen it at Home depot ) . It is exa...

I got the Rinks for my Pardini SP and HP. I liked them a lot better than the ones that came with the guns mainly since I have smaller hands and the 2 choices that Pardini offers didnt fit me well. I did have a lot of trouble making the guns ISSF legal though. The overhang on the hand ( just above th...

Need invitation from a French shooting Club
I am stopping over in Paris on my way back from the WC in Greece for a few days. My Canadian passport allows me entry, however, I will be carrying my pistols with me and to get into France, I need to show an invitation from a French shooting club to the customs officials. If there is a TT member of ...
