Anyone know the alloy composition of Lead Pellets ?

Being cheap by nature, I was hoping to melt down all of my expended pellets and start casting bullets for some of my firearms to save money. It would help to know what material I'm working with. Does anyone know what is in our little .177 friends? Pure lead? Lead / tin?, etc. Thanks again to those t...

Well, at first thought, it should have little to do with us competitive shooters, but I think seemehaha has a valid concern. Here in Illinois, politicians and the state gov't are rabidly anti- gun. Unfortunately, anything even remotely connected with fireams that can be seen in a negative light may ...

CDNN TOZ

I got one of the $399 models and was very impressed. It pretty much fits TOZGUESTs #1 example. Took it to the range today and functioning was perfect. Grips were unaltered, though it seems CDNN put it in too small of a box and one of the wings on the grip broke off. I'm okay with that cause my hand ...

Anyone know how to date a Toz 35?

Hey all,
Does anybody know of a reference for finding manufacture dates for Toz 35's? I've got a great old example with a very low SN and was curious. Thanks in advance...

I wonder...

Since this is the major, if not the only board where us international shooters get together in the US, why wouldn't USAS check in to see what we all are saying? If they are, I don't believe they have sounded off about any of this. It would be nice if USAS would listen to us on this forum as many of ...

Another definition of Mad Minute...

The only mad minute that I ever knew had nothing to do with competitive shooting. I've only known it from the Army. If you were needing to suppress a target / objective with preperatory fire, it would be called a mad minute. As in the support element would unload everything (M60 - M240B fire) it cou...

No air at the Spring Selection?

Does anyone know why there seems to be no Mens and Womens Air events at the Spring Selection? It's not listed in the match program download at USAS. I've never seen that before.....

No experience with the IZH, but I shot a 65 for 2 or 3 years.
The 65 will last forever and shoot 10's just as long. The only problem I had with the 65 is that you can't dry fire it (without expelling air). But it is a solid gun and reliable.
Hope this helps.

USAS listening?

I have been reading all the concerns and negatives about USAS on this board for, I don't know how long. I have watched the USAS website patiently and seen less of what the competitors need and less of what all members pay for. My wish is that USAS (someone has to be reading all these posts), talk to...

Goodbye Lee F.

I just met Lee a year ago and he whole-heartedly welcomed my wife and myself to the club. We felt very welcome and I was looking forward to seeing him again. Let's not forget his expertise with Manurhin revolvers!! We'll miss a great shooter and a great guy. Ted , if you guys in Indiana have a Lee F...

Bring your ID card!!

I renewed my membership via the old website last year and was seriously dismayed to find out (at a selection match, no less) that my membership had expired. I was definately not in the system. The only thing that got me into the match (and yes, I was previously registered) was producing my membershi...

2 Questions

1: Is it adaptable to the LP 1?
2: If it is, will it still fit in the box?

In about 11 years of state and national level competitions (Combat, Bullseye and International), if you can shoot Free Pistol well, you can shoot any precision or slow-fire pistol very well. It is the most demanding. I've seen other extremely accomplished pistol shooters of other disciplines be humb...

hammerli 106

I shot a 106 for about 3 years and it never let me down. It will shoot more 10's than we can. On the down side, it is a heavy gun. Most of the weight seems to be in the rear of the gun, so balance might be an issue, depending on the individual. Also, there aren't as many adjustments as found on curr...

Any experience with the Steyr LP1 conversion to Air?

I'm about to switch to compressed air after all these years and while shopping for 'The Next One', I found Pilkguns offers a Steyr conversion for my old, trusty LP1.
Has anyone out there used this conversion. If so I'd love to hear. Sounds like a great idea. Thanks for sharing....

opinions on the Walther LP300?

I don't see a lot of these on the firing line, but I'm looking to buy a new AP and I've always enjoyed the Walther brand.
Anyone out there have one of these that can offer their comments (Pos or Neg) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!
