Re: Air gun range question
If you're using this as a safety backstop, and not a primary, it should get hit very rarely, and almost never in the same spot. If you do have penetration, the reduction in kinetic energy may still be acceptable, if not a second barrier a few inches apart from the first should do the trick. As was s...

Re: 2016 Daisy National
If I remember right they sent out the incorrect (2015) study guide. There was also some with the test vs the answer sheet. It was messed up multiple ways. Coaches were flipping out. They probably did the only thing they could to keep from pissing the majority of teams off. We did get our answer shee...

Re: 499b arrived, 155 fps, can't zero at 5 meters
I had one but now I use a brass cleaning rod with no attachment. It catches the spring well enough to remove the wedge. If you still want to make one I'd suggest using pvc, instead of steel. Steel can scratch the inside of the housing. http://www.georgia4h.org/safe/disciplines/Rifle/BB/499%20plunger...

Re: 499b arrived, 155 fps, can't zero at 5 meters
You may want to test a few more types of BB's I try to find the barrel BB combination that groups inside the 9 ring and have had good luck getting even tighter than that 1/2 is almost a maximum group size. Be careful not to get lube in the shot tube can ruin accuracy. Half inches 10 meters not 5 me...

I make all of mine in excel. Some for printing out, and some I use on my laptop with formulas to do the math for me and track averages.

We have to shoot a qualifying score for our state BB match and still have just shy of 600 kids every year. We score with Orion and we still don't wrap up with awards till around midnight the day of.

I would love a better trigger assembly for the Daisy 499. One with a crisp breaking point and very little slack travel.

Re: 10m AR advise for a kid in a slump.
Things are looking up. Got him spending at least 30 sec with the gun on the stand between shots. We shot 3x20 in practice Saturday, and he finished both standing in like 9 mins and did about what he had been (low 80s). Had him hang another target and shoot a modified final. Including loading he was ...

Re: 10m AR advise for a kid in a slump.
Anschutz 8002 s2. He's got 33'' between his eye and the front sight, so we started with the minimum recommended 4.0. He's using a 4.3 now.

Re: 10m AR advise for a kid in a slump.
Had him shooting 5m BB targets the other day. They have an aiming black about the size of a dime. He did really well, which led me to start checking his front aperture. He had the minimum in for his eye to front sight length. We went up on it by .3 mm anyway, and it lowered his hold time. Got one th...

10m AR advise for a kid in a slump.
My son is 16 and in 10th grade. This is his 2nd year is 10m 3p. He's been in the 270 range for most of this year with a PR of 278, but his scores have been degrading of late. He does fine in prone, but standing and kneeling have begun killing him and he claims he can't figure out why. He'll but bust...

Re: LG300 will not fire after filling
Not overfilled, it doesn't seen to matter how much air you add. We tried purging the regulator before installing the cylinder but no change. Shoots fine after about 3 hours resting.

LG300 will not fire after filling
My sons HS team has a LG300 that will not fire after filling the cylinder, however after a few hours it begins working again. Is this common to this model or is this a defect?

Shooting apparial repair.
Most of our HS shooting jackets and pants are getting pretty worn out. Where is the best place to send jackets and pants for repair? Preferably somewhere that can bring anything that is no longer legal up to code.

I think the NRA age rules for competition is 8yo. May want to double check that, because I think they may have revised it. Don't let that stop you from getting started now.
