Re: 2017-2018 USAS JOs now running by ISSF rules
NOOOOOoooooo! It cannot be so! Like this meeting when they had made the decision already? http://www.issf-sports.org/news.ashx?newsid=2848 There's a lot of pretty words in that article. Reading between the lines looks more like an excuse to force clubs and leagues to buy new equipment and sold unde...

Re: 2017-2018 USAS JOs now running by ISSF rules
I am convinced that the committee that makes these rule changes often do so to remain relevant, and justify their existence.

Re: Any Ideas for fundraisers for small groups
Don't know exactly for the rifle team, all donations went to the school. We did something similar with my BB team to raise money to go to nationals. I would estimate about $2000 from the letters. We gave each family 10 letters, but I cant say for certain that they were all sent out or that no one ma...

Re: Any Ideas for fundraisers for small groups
One of the things we did was compose a letter requesting donations and explaining what we do and, need. We embellish it with all the positives of the sport and its positive development for the kids and the tax exemption information. Each family would be asked to send out x amount of letters. Letters...

Re: Daisy 499b Program Startup - ideas needed
It's more fun if the projectile goes where its aimed, mostly, whether shooting BB or high power. Whether any of this small group of kids get the competitive bug is immaterial to the program. Doubtful any of this group will go beyond trying to hit somewhere in the bull. As I suspected, replies show ...

Re: Journaling at 5M BB level.
With all due respect to both of you, if they are shooting BB gun you need to keep it fun. Writing in a journal isn't fun. Being made to write in a journal is punishment. Were I asking them to write a journal that I'd expect from 3p kids you'd be right. I don't intend to berate those that put in les...

Re: Journaling at 5M BB level.
Thanks. One of my coaches emailed me an article that I found interesting. Wasn't till the end that I realized the writer was a golf coach. Much of what it had to say seem applicable though different from a lot of other articles. You cannot manage what you do not measure. You need to have a plan to r...

Journaling at 5M BB level.
I've always encouraged my BB shooters and coaches to keep performance journals, but I plan start making a bigger issue of it. Can anyone recommend any articles or templates. I need something simple because I'm working with 4th through 8th grade kids. I've been using the CMP one that you can download...

Re: Daisy National Rumor
Shot the Georgia Games match this past Saturday, and rumor going around there was that after this year they are planning to return to the practice of moving the DNBBGCM to a different city every year. This was all talk that someone heard from someone who heard it from someone else, but the rumor was...

Haven't heard that one. We went last year and are going again this year, so if I hear of anything I'll post it.

Re: 499b arrived, 155 fps, can't zero at 5 meters
What waiting for my label to arrive I decided to try something. I conographed the gun it was going 155 feet per second. Then I took a little Crosman silicone ,took the barrel out there put down on the seal and let it sit for about a half hour. I was rewarded by a bit over 200 feet per second and no...

Small frame sitting position
So I have a 4th grade girl on my 5m BB team that is tiny. I've never been a fan of the open sitting position, but I her case I think it is, for now, her only alternative. In the cross leg position she's so balled up that she has to float her cheek and knees to get any kind of sight alignment, and ev...

Re: Offhand Advice Request
If the horizontal drift is consistent, and you can compare multiple sets of targets and see a repeating pattern, then she may not be adjusting her natural point of aim.

GHSA shoots a 30 shot 3p, but I can see your point with a 60.

Re: Pellet/shot management
If you aren't doing so already, have an order to the record fire shots taken. Not sure what targets you're shooting but I've found that almost never is 1,2,3,.... etc. the best order. For 3p we shoot 2,9,1,4,6,8,3,5,7,10. Saves a little time adjusting NPA if you shoot columns instead of rows. Shoote...
