Re: New updates for the MATCHGUNS MG2 RIO 2016
52xx is not new production. It's an earlier serial number than my MG2 which was manufactured in 2014. 2013-2014 would be right.

Re: New Manurhin MR73 Match shipment arrives in Oz.
Thanks David. Do you think the 2017 MR 73 sport is a good choice for service match?

Re: New Manurhin MR73 Match shipment arrives in Oz.
Am I correct in my understanding that the Match model in .38spl is single-action only? How would the MR73 Sport compare to the typical S&Ws with a trigger job used in Australia for service match?

Steyr LP10 barrel shroud weights?
Hi, I have a Steyr LP10. I'm wondering if someone can provide advice on how I should use the barrel shroud weights? I've not used them so far. Is it just trial and error? Can I use them to dampen the arc of the movement in the aligned sights? Thanks for any feedback.

Sphinx/Kriss Switzerland?
Hi, wondering if any of our European members have any contact details for Sphinx in Switzerland? I believe they're now part of the Kriss group. All I can find these days is Kriss USA. A customer service email address, phone number, or even a postal address to the Swiss-based staff would be greatly a...

Lapua 9mm unprimed cases?
Hi. Looking for an export-friendly business (probably in a European country) that could sell and post to me 500-1000 Lapua 9mm cases? They are probably not any better than starline, but I want what I want.

Re: pellets are pellets. right?
I would assume pellets are the least likely variable to impact performance. However, like all manufactured items, some times something goes wrong. If you have a reloading scale, you could weigh a sample for consistency. Visually examine them for symmetry. Pistol shooting is demanding of your techniq...

Re: Interesting news from Matchguns regarding MG2 and MGH1
The Australian and Canadian dollars are practically at parity. The Kiwi is only a little weaker again. A significant premium is paid for local service and support.

Re: Aftermarket Steyr AP Grips For Short Fingers?
That's my understanding too. But it is also used to bring the trigger a little closer to a short finger.Gwhite wrote:I thought it was primarily intended for people who shoot "cross-dominant", i.e. dominant hand & eye are on opposite sides.

Re: First shots with my new MG2
From my short experience, cleaning an MG2 requires cotton swabs, not a pin punch. Remove the barrel, slide cover, slide and grip, and all parts are exposed to be wiped clean. Welcome to the club CamelNL.

Re: Matchguns MG2 setup
With 300m people and the biggest firearms market in the world it's difficult to understand why there isn't a stable supply/service chain for these pistols in the states.PFribley wrote:Conradin. Who did you go thru to get your mg2 here in the states???

Re: Matchguns MG2 setup
If only you could walk into an Apple Store equivalent for Matchguns and try all of these variations. I would love to try the ergal standard counterweight to see just how light it is, and whether it would be suitable for standard and sports pistol. I appreciate the role of weight in the muzzle dampen...

That's great. Thanks. Visually can you tell the counterweights apart? Is the finish or surface texture different?deadeyedick wrote:My MG2RF weighs in at 940 Gm with the Ergal weight including mag.
From memory it weighs around 1104 gm with the steel weight.

Re: Matchguns MG2 setup
I also have both the Ergal and steel weights. For Rapid Fire the heavier RF steel weight has the advantage, however for Sport Pistol and even Standard the Ergal weight with the optional tungsten weights ( two per side with springs inserted then weights ) does it for me. This is quite a timely topic...

That's really great. Thanks for the serial num.deadeyedick wrote:My MG2R is a little over 12 months old and has a serial number 51xx. I am not sure that any changes have been made for a couple of years, so the serial number beyond 4500 might not mean much.
I use Eley Club and find the pistol flawless.

Matchguns MG2R current revision?
Hi all. I am interested in purchasing a Matchguns MG2R. Can anyone provide me with any advice on how I can ensure I am purchasing the latest revision of the firearm without taking the dealer's word for it. What's the current manufacturing run's serial number range? I understand there have been some ...
