Re: Steyr LP50 New Models!
8.2g @ 641fps is 7.57 ft #'s or 10.26 joules. While that is above the "normal" average of 5-7 joules, it is well below the advertised 14 joules. More power is probably available with a sacrifice of shot count. Its the short barrel compact. The product brochure indicates it should make up ...

Re: Steyr LP50 New Models!
I sent an email to Steyr Sport asking about 14J conversion. I'll post their reply. While were getting our LP50 geek on, here are a couple pics of a quiet shooting accessory I designed and had 3D printed. Went with a full shroud to cover the barrel vents. It has an integrated picatinny mount. Clever...

idk, probably here on TT.Rover wrote:"A bent coat hanger and a couple tins of pellets hung from the coat hanger in a ziplock, adding/subtracting pellets to set the weight works well enough."
Great idea! Where'd ya get that one?

Re: Getting back into the AP game, trying to decide what to
Changing trigger position can change the leverage such that tested pull weight would increase or decrease. Out of the box my P8X supported >500g. Then i slid the trigger further away, increasing leverage, so i had to increase the spring tensions a bit. A bent coat hanger and a couple tins of pellets...

Re: Getting back into the AP game, trying to decide what to
The grip of the K12 i had was pretty 'full'. Walther USA provides support here. FWB has dealers (ISS, Pyramyd & Champ Choice afaik). 22match... your profile says Nashville, TN. Both Pilkington and Champions Choice are fairly close to you. I'm envious! I have a P8X and really like it. The trigger...

Re: Anyone use or have opinion on this PCP hand pump
It looks like the OP's possible pump has a foster quick disconnect at the end of the hose. Get one of these: Stainless Steel DIN200/DIN300 to Male Paintball Quick Disconnect (Fits Steyr, Feinwerkbau, Anschutz, AA/CZ200, etc.) from airtanksforsale.com Or similarly: http://www.pyramydair.com/s/a/Air_V...

Re: Standard Barrel Length or Compact for 10m Targets?
Not trying to be rude or anything but have you searched the forum? The compact vs full length question has been posed many times with lots of useful contributions made. When I started out I just went full length and it has been fine. Do you have the opportunity to check out various pistols? For me, ...

Re: pardini k12 question
The click is just the weight sliding forward. Feel for yourself if it needs adjustment.... shoot and if recoil is objectionable adjust it. Saw your other post as well. If you adjust velocity know that there is a set screw on the right side of the receiver assembly that locks the hammer spring adjust...

Try here: http://www.usashooting.org/library/Youth_Development/CTC/Bridge_Jr._Shooting_Club.pdf I doubt you can train there, but they hold occasional matches anyone can enter. Give them a call. I think they do AP exclusively. They will be able to give you more info. Thanks much! Mr Kim replied to m...

10m AP shooting in LA?
Are there any clubs in the LA area that host 10m AP shooting?
I'm travelling to Torrance for work and would like to get in some shooting if possible.
I tried the USA Shooting find a club page but it didn't return any hits on ranges that support 10m AP.
Thanks!

Re: Pellet Testing... AGAIN!
Nah! Half that is normal with PCPs (but not with SSPs). I'll give you that you may need to be fussy with an air rifle, but with a pistol it just doesn't matter, no matter how much fretting and whining goes on here. This is what makes pistol shooting attractive to me (in addition to minimal gear). I...

Re: Speed of Izh vs. Steyr
That makes my point even stronger. It sure does. The last bit of a SCATT trace before the click is 0.2 seconds or 200 ms. So half of 1ms would be the last 1/400th of that 0.2 second bit of the trace. Very small change in point of aim. Difference in time of flight might make a difference. Assuming c...

Re: Speed of Izh vs. Steyr
Low velocity air pistols are great for strengthening your fundamentals. Elite air pistol shooters are not gods. They also flinch and can benefit from pistols that have faster lock and barrel times. Have you seen the Scatt traces of the worlds best shooters? Most of them shoot on the way into the te...

Re: Speed of Izh vs. Steyr
The way I calculated it was: barrel length 12"; pellet velocities 400fps for puny, 500fps for high. 1/400 sec for puny; 1/500 sec. for high. Difference: 1/100 sec. I could be wrong. Here's my back of the envelope maths: 1/400 = 0.0025 1/500 = 0.002 Difference = 0.0005 or half a millisecond. Wh...

Re: Speed of Izh vs. Steyr
Lock times and barrel times are two VERY different things. The difference in BARREL times between low velocity and high velocity APs is around 1/100 of a second. How are YOUR reflexes? The difference in barrel time is likely a good bit less than 1/100 s. Total shot development time (sear release to...

I've had great experience lubing my springers (TX200 & LGV) with DuPont Krytox GPL-205 grease. Spring, piston seal and rings. In addition to being very slippery it is basically inert and will not diesel. Don't need to use much either unlike spring tar. The Gateway to Airguns springer sub forums...
