SSP shoots heavier pellets better...anolomy?
I have a FAS604 that I just resealed and its shooting 7 grainers at a healthy 375-385 fps. Tried about 8 or 9 light pellets , including R10's, Meisters, Finale's, JSB's, H&N's, Basics, etc...and couldn't get it to group as well as my $200 Air Venturi V10 SSP. Stringing, flyers, etc, and just cou...

Re: Eyewear confusion
My reading glasses are 1.50 strength. I simply cut the power in half, to .75 and it made a world of difference. Front sight is much clearer than before. These safety-rated glasses are cheap, and a 3-pack can be had for $24 shipped.

Re: Suction Cup Iris for Glasses?
What works for me; My eyesight is perfect, at distance, but I require 1.50 power reading glasses for close up/reading. This results in a crystal clear target but blurry sights. I found safety rated glasses at HALF my 1.50 magnification , or .75 , and now I can see both the front sight and the target...

Re: Improve the FAS 6004
Thanks again, Clarky... I have a new V10 (compact) pistol that just barely outshoots the FAS 604 and Im trying to wring all the accuracy I can out of the old 604, as I really like it better. The V10 has a rock-solid front barrel mounting setup that affords zero movement, via a large grub/set screw. ...

Re: Improve the FAS 6004
Clarky, or anyone that has worked on 604's..A question on my 604's barrel retention..I'm trying to get the front half inch of barrel (under the front sight dovetail) to be as tight as possible. Mine's an early, 4 digit serial gun, and I see from the factory, under the front sight, there is a small r...

Re: Improve the FAS 6004
Hi Clarky....By any chance do you remember the actual size of the breech oring? I just put a rebuild kit in a nice used 604 I just bought and there was no oring Identification in the kit. Just the spare orings. So far I love it. It can't outshoot my old FWB65, but it is close. With some more practic...

Re: Difference between FAS 604 & 6004?
Thanks Rover
Not wanting to wander into the CO2 world just yet. Thanks for the AOA tip. I would go through them should I want a 6004 for sure..guess the toss up is between the MK2 604 and the new 6004.
Anyone have any input between these two pistols?
Thanks again

Difference between FAS 604 & 6004?
Ive had the 6004 pistol and liked it, but never owned a 604. I was wondering if there's anything glaringly better about the earlier 604 pistols, over the newer 6004's? Sold the 6004 and before I replace it, I was maybe going to look around for a clean 604. Pyramyd Air has the 6004's brand new for $4...

Re: Federal .22 automatch
I also had a lot of trouble with CCI SV in a like new, Hamden Victor with a spotless chamber. Turns out its a CCI quality control issue. About 1/3 to 1/2 the rounds randomly chosen would "plunk" right in and out of the chamber, effortlessly .. The others would bind up half way down and res...

Grooved rifle receivers... 3/8" vs. 11mm question
Looking at a clamp-on Skinner receiver peep sight billed as being for an "11mm CZ 452/455 receiver". Will this same sight fit grooved 3/8" US models like the Winchester 69A, 72, 9422, etc...?

Re: 1975 Victor wont chamber CCI SV ammo. Thoughts?
Thanks xeye....all good points....Magazines are original 1970's vintage and I bought the $30 steel tool to adjust the lips. They were spot on. Believe it or not, the Remington Surplus ammo seems to be the winner here, out of about 10 different ammo tries...(Fed Auto Match is equally reliable, but I ...

Yeah, CR...you were right. And thanks for the tip about the Remington ammo. Almost forgot I had it.. So far it's perfect. Can't with good conscience buy CCI SV ammo anymore, at least not in bulk. Lost my trust. I might contact them too, Kirm..

Re: 1975 Victor wont chamber CCI SV ammo. Thoughts?
Hi Oldcaster; Chamber face is perfect. No dry fire ding and chamber and bore have been scrubbed & chamber Flitz polished. Physically can't get any cleaner. Pistol is almost brand new. Have found several different ammo brands that drop right in and fall right out. Pretty clear now that it's the l...

Re: 1975 Victor wont chamber CCI SV ammo. Thoughts?
I hear ya Mike...... I don't know..All I know is the Rem SV so far is %100 reliable, consistent and sure-fire in this particular pistol. That's with loading the mags with full 10 rounds, too. Also easily as accurate as the CCI. Only been about 300 rounds of Rem, but I couldn't even get through a sin...
