Re: Middle TN Bullseye Clubs/Shooters?

I'm over in Cookeville TN. We have short line 2700 matches. I also shoot in Columbia TN at the Last Resort range mentioned above. Oak Ridge ORSA has both outdoor long line 2700 matches in the summer and 1800 indoor 50' matches in the Winter.

Re: Slide Mount or Frame Mount for Red Dot on .45?

Slide mount 45's are less snappy. Snappy is not your friend as a newbie. One advantage of frame mount pistols is it is less work to tune your load and they aren't affected as much by temperature.

Re: Buying air pistol online from European seller

I got one from the Netherlands, shipping was surprisingly cheap and fast. The seller took care of all paperwork. No customs hassles. No regrets.

Tell me about your 32acp experience.

I've been intrigued by the 32acp's for a couple years. I wish there were more options for new pistols using the 32acp but it appears you're stuck with Pardini unless you want to rebarrel a S&W long and figure out the magazines. The reason I've been thinking of a 32 acp is to make matches a bit m...

Ouch that's rough. Guess I can count out that option. I really want to give the 32acp a try but it seems like a PITA.

How well does the Fiocchi 32acp 73 grain ammo perform? Its less than $.25 a round and gets great reviews.

Re: Any experience with importing from Krale (Netherlands)

It is easy to lose sight sometimes that Scott is sponsoring the forum, especially when most other firearms forums aren't sponsored by a retailer, it becomes commonplace to share leads on good deals to other shooters. He was less than thrilled when I posted a thread about getting my Evo10 from Krale,...

Which acid free grease for Steyr o-rings?

I need to get some of the special acid free silicone grease they mention in the manual for my Evo10, any recommendations?

Re: New versus old 41?

I had a 41 made in 1978 early in my bullseye shooting, it had a fantastic trigger but I was plagued by occasional stovepipes, I installed a Volquartsen edge extractor which helped but still had occasional problems. I've grown to absolutely love the 1911 platform and the 22 conversions. My advice to ...

Re: .32 caliber, lead as opposed to jacketed, and Glocks

The s&w will probably serve you better than the glocks but you have all you need to compete. You'll want a 1911 chambered in 45 soon along with reloading equipment. Lead is preferred until you get really good, jacketed needs to be run hotter than lead to maintain accuracy so you'll likely lose m...

Re: What's your high score?

John, that is quite an accomplishment. What I find is the higher your average rises the more concentration it requires, each shot can be disasterous to your score. I can only imagine how demanding it is when you get in the 580's. On a side note, I realize red dots are not legal for official Olympic ...

Re: What's your high score?

You guys are no damn fun, or you're all a bunch of women over analyzing the question. At regulation distance, regulation targets what is your high score, match or practice.

Re: What's your high score?

10m air pistol, 6x10. I know red dots aren't allowed in Olympic shooting but I'm doing informal practice in my basement at 10m with a red dot to practice for bullseye.

What's your high score?

I've shot a 557 score 3 separate times, once with irons and twice now with a red dot. I was curious what everyone's high score is.

Re: Rover Bait on Gunbroker

$35 for shipping isn't unreasonable if they're fully insuring the pistol. I've shipped a couple $2-3k firearms recently and the insurance cost as much as the actual shipping.

Re: Whats the latest and greatest Pardini scope mount?

Gotta love a $600 red dot without tactile clicks, I thought it was bad the Matchdot 2 has crappy clicks but at least it's only $200. The long range shooters get pissy if it doesn't feel like breaking glass with each click on a scope.

New Pardini SP w/ integrated picatinny on barrel shroud.

I've been considering the purchase of a SP .22/.32 Bullseye combo. One of the main issues as you guys know is mounting rings for a red dot especially on the .32acp since the rings are known to slip. I was checking on options today, I spoke with both Larry's and BME, both said they no longer make sco...

Re: Whats the latest and greatest Pardini scope mount?

Well I spoke with Larry's guns and they're not supporting the Pardini's anymore. They are out of stock on the rails and won't be making anymore in the future. I also noticed they don't have any Pardini guns for sale anymore. Kind of makes me wonder if Larry and Pardini got into it over something. Or...

Re: Whats the latest and greatest Pardini scope mount?

One thing that makes me nervous about using one dot is having to switch back and forth between 22 & 32. Typically how many elevation clicks are required when switching? Does the windage usually remain unchanged between the 2? That would seem to be more of an issues of the 2 barrels lining up pro...

Re: Pardini HP 32, ammo talk

Funny people talking about $.17 bullets being expensive when we're talking about a $3600 22/32 pistol combo.

So has anyone tried the Lyman .32 M Expander?

Also I did a test to see how my RCBS powder measure would work with extremely light drops, I was dropping 1.7 grains of WST pretty consistently.
