forcing cone
Brushing won't typically take lead out of a forcing cone, any machining marks are typically circumferential (as opposed to longitudinal as in the rifling) and a brush will not prize any lead out. I've not seen a gadget for removing lead from a .22 revolver forcing cone. so, how do you get it out. O...

Re: opinions? 22 revolver
Did you call S & W repair? They claim to warranty lifetime after 1980 or so. (I sent them a 1976) I suppose I will, eventually. Shipping guns for repair is a pain, so I've been putting it off. It was actually pretty easy. They told me exactly how to do it. I walked into Fedex, said what they sa...

Re: opinions? 22 revolver
Are new S & W 22's as good as the older models? I'm not qualified to make cross-generational comparisons. I can, however, add one data point. About 6 months ago, I saw a brand new S&W "Classic" Model 18 in the dealers case. It's a nice revolver. See: http://www.smith-wesson.com/we...

opinions? 22 revolver
All, Given advances in manufacturing, is a modern gun, eg,Taurus 94, 22 caliber revolver as good a target gun as a K 17, Colt Officers 22, etc? Is there a performance advantage that makes it worth searching out an old piece? Are new S & W 22's as good as the older models? Are the new S & W s...

Re: CCI Std. 0035
Anyone else having trouble with recent lots of CCI Std. vel. 0035 having so much wax on the bullets that they are even gumming up the magazines. I can't get 100 rds. out of clean magazines before the followers start sticking. Previous lot of this were fine. Morini CM22rf and Pardini SP New both are...

the best one is the one you shoot best.
I shoot my Pardini better, but it is more fun to shoot my High Standard.
I like shooting an antique...I'm weird...also with an Al. barrel it's lighter and I get tired holding guns up.

sol, My point was not to extoll the virtues of Remington SV. My point was that .22's do seem to have their favorite ammo, and that trying a variety is a good idea. when I started, I bought 100 rounds of every smmo I could find localy and actualy afford to shoot. Bench tested them all against one of...

Re: High Standard after market magazines
Does anybody know of a source for quality after market magazines for a High Standard Sharpshooter? I had bought some from Numrich Arms (I don't know who the manufacturer is) that work OK for slow fire but in timed and rapid fire they (all 4 of them ) tend to drop out of the gun and cause an alibi. ...

Go to the club meets. check out all the guns. find one that suits you. Let everyone know you are in the market. Read the adds posted on the range wall. Best buy is usually a used gun that someone has already set up and comes with grips, spare mags dot and mount, maybe even a gun case and scope. I he...

I was wondering.....
The Birka clad are allowed to shoot but not drive?
Also, would those countries not allowing women to be out and about without male family members allow them to travel to intl events and stand on the line next to men?

Re: citation
I said smart, not high IQ. And I never claimed that being either smart or high IQ makes one "ipso facto" a better teacher, though I think the papers I cited make clear that I'm not the only one who thinks there might be a correlation. But since you seem to believe differently, and it's a p...

Re: Beginning Pistol (Benelli MP95E?)
I think I posted this in the wrong place last time- Looking to move the local shooting team from plinkers to the next level. Does anyone have any experience with the Benelli MP95E. I want something that the new shooters can try to at least get a feel for how it feels to use a real competition pisto...
