Re: Rapid Fire Stabilizer/Counterweight question.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qv_C4gr1hSE Above is a video of a Ransom type device I made only this device is designed to allow the pistol to recoil as much as possible. I weighed my hand resting my arm on a book and it weighted 300g. So, I made the clamping part weigh 300g. I positioned the pivot...

Re: Rapid Fire Stabilizer/Counterweight question.
rmca..... I agree with you 100%. This is more about the shooter than the firearm. Some people couldn't hit the target with a rifle. Some shooters have better eyesight, steadier nerves and might have just done a whole lot of shooting, like 50,000 rounds through one pistol. Obviously, if the pistol is...

Re: Rapid Fire Stabilizer/Counterweight question.
j-team, we have looked at all of the old pistols, the old and the new target pistols. I'd like to get my hands on some of them. But, this challenge is for the P22. The Chief Engineer at Walther for their small arms and I have both suggested the shooter put his time and effort into a real ISSF pistol...

Re: Rapid Fire Stabilizer/Counterweight question.
I realize we are working up hill here. I have never fired much less seen one of these match pistols. I have watched a lot of videos and can see what has been designed into the pistols to make them stable. Now to try to adapt some of these features to the P22, a decidedly non rapid fire pistol. The r...

Re: Rapid Fire Stabilizer/Counterweight question.
The slide on a Pardin is either 96g or 98g according to someone here. The P22 slide, breech block, firing pin, extractor, etc. is 149g so that makes a pretty big impact and the P22 cannot be held on target for the faster portions of rapid fire competition. It simply recoils too much. The grip is too...

Rapid Fire Stabilizer/Counterweight question.
If a weight is added to the muzzle which encircles the barrel, is the pistol still legal if the barrel does not extend flush with the end of the weight. Assuming overall length dimensions are still legal. There is no porting of the gasses up, down, etc. simply a longer stabilizer with a bore the siz...

Thanks Tycho and ghostrip. Very much appreciated. The P22 slide weight 149g and sits quite high in relationship to the grip. This is a problem. The concept I posted earlier is of little benefit to damping rotational torque which is what I am largely dealing with. A similar damping device had been ma...

Heirich Ries, Who is he? Pardini RF Damper
I notice Pardini gives Heirich Ries credit for the spring loaded damper system used in the SP1 RF. I can find nothing on him and very, very little on what Pardini calls the adjustable multifunction counterweight. Does anyone know of any more information? M1911

The balance point above with 40 washers is the rear nut just in front of the trigger guard with 5 rounds on board. I expect 40 is too much weight. 30 washers would give the pistol the same weight percentage, pistol to sliding bars of the Pardini RF. 22.5% or thereabout. Nothing else is the same...or...

I would of course like to know the weight of the springs in the Rf as well as their length and diameter, spring wire diameter, etc. I can count the coils from pictures I've seen. Six springs with 35 g tungsten weights wrapped around the barrel but attached to the frame will likely perform much bette...

Yes, I see that they have different slides. I'm wanting the weight of the RF slide in the newest pistol. The one with the tungsten weights and the damper on the slide. Damper, slide and firing pin weight. The whole slide/bolt weight. I have to total pistol weight and rod weight. I'd also like to kno...

Thanks Cranky.....don't I know you from RFC or WaltherForums? I purchased a small black digital scale at Walmart the other day. $14. It weighs to 11 pounds and in lbs or grams. It also has a scale for liquids and appears to be quite accurate. Good for the kitchen or gun bench. Crete, in Crete is fir...

Is there some known formula for total pistol weight, slide weight/velocity and stabilizer rod weights for damping muzzle movement. Is anything written on this that might be applied to other pistols based on weight, slide weight that could be used to determined an approximate stabilizer rod weight. A...
