Looks like a niece way to give an old movie camera a new life. The cameras I'm familiar with go to "sleep" after a few moments of viewing, probably to conserve battery life (?).
How does your setup overcome this feature?

CP-2 Leftovers
The spring and the ball detent are used to keep the loading lever open during loading and they go under the L/H rear sight attach screw (ball first then the spring). You are to be congratulated on your dis-assemble technique. The first time I removed the rear sight, the ball fell/rolled onto the sho...

Misfire
Misadjustment of the preload on the sear would also make the trigger quite twitchy. This adjustment is shown but not addressed in the manual and there is usually red lacquer applied at the factory to seal this adjustment screw. In the manuals from other pistols in the CP series, there is a "Do ...

Derekm, your right! my #225 should be #226 (poor copy + ancient eyes). To replace him requires the removal of the entire probe assembly. Start with the rear sight and have a small magnet in your hand to catch small parts when you unscrew the L/H attach screw (#5) because the small spring and detent ...

CP-2 Takedown
Pretty straightforward gun to rebuild. Study the diagram and consider that there are only three o-rings to replace: #307, 305 and 225 total! Start by removing the two screws #50 holding the CO2 tank probe. Do it slowly to catch the valve shaft #305 and its spring #204 as they pop out. Take pictures ...

The place can be found at: www.theoringstore.com (aka O-Rings, Inc, Los Angeles, CA 323-343-9500). The small ring which fits on the valve stem is -004 E80 and the larger is -021 E80. The numbers appear to represent the size and 80 durometer EDPM rubber. The larger one is a static seal and is probabl...

Walther Storage
BEA brings up a good point. Current authorized agent (CAA) does charge $60 for tank work and "resealing" appears to consist of one rather small o-ring. OEM ring appears to be mertic as well as polyurethane. Right now I'm trying a -004 EDPM o-ring which set me back about 50 cents from The O...

Walther Storage
I think this thread has been touched on before, but somewhat inconclusively. I have been of the school that removes/unscrews the tank after each session. This allows me to keep track of the CO2 level with a small digital scale. Two things to keep in mind are thread and o-ring lube - think moly and s...

O-Ring Materials
Viton, with its low pearmability and good compression set resistance is great for static seals. Viton seal life, when compared to polyurethane, would be much shorter for cylinder sealing applications where abrasion with the threaded section of the cylinder probe or gun receptacle would tear the o-ri...

O-Ring Material
Those green o-rings you may have seen on Walther CO2 guns are polyurethane - much more tear resistant than silicone. The trick is to find them in metric sizes!!

LP-1 vs CMP-1
Have owned and shot both extensively. The Steyr is a "Swiss" watch: the Walther is a solid, well thought-out AP : * CMP-1 weighs some 100 gm less and its C.G. is aft - closer to the trigger than the LP-1, but I'd never consider the LP-1 "nose heavy". This (C.G. - weight difference...

Dry Firing Blank Wall
OZ brings up a good point which is apparent to me and prehaps others. 80% of my dry firing is done against a blank wall -alignment, letoff and follow-through sure looks good but, put the destracting bull up there and everything goes to hell! During live firing, it takes a while to get in that automa...

CO2 (or Air) Tank Reseal
Is replacing the tank poppet valve seal "do-it-yourself" operation when armed with a heavy bench vice, a 16" strap wrench some hex stock which fits the recessed hex in the end of the tank? The question is how much torque is required to break away the end fitting to allow access to the...
