Re: Lightest high end 10 meter air rifle

If you're willing to wade thru exploded drawings for the various models, you will most likely be able to tell if internal parts are shared or not. Check here:

Re: Is it just me or is this forum slowly dying ?

Please comment if you have noticed not only lethargic activity but diminished input from all but the few stalwarts. I don't mean to be contrary, but if one scrolls down to the bottom of the index page it says: "Most users ever online was 590 on Fri May 08, 2020 1:56 pm" Most traffic ever ...

Re: fwb 2800w

I too have been thinking about a 2800W, but have not been able to handle one. I absolutely love my 800W air rifle and hope the smallbore version would feel similar. Have to make sure my job survives Covid before I can make the purchase, though. Wouldn't it be nice if someone, who has owned and possi...

Re: Lightest high end 10 meter air rifle

I bought my 800W from Champion's Choice in Tennessee. They have plenty of Feinwerkbau rifles in stock and they list how many they have on their website. If you have any questions about the rifles, you can call them. They are very helpful and friendly over the phone. I don't know for sure, but I beli...

Re: Lightest high end 10 meter air rifle

Hi J.L. Are you completely sold on an aluminum stocked rifle? I have a Feinwerkbau 800W that I really love. It is supremely accurate. The catalog weight of this rifle is 9 1/4 pounds (4.2 kilos). I have added four barrel weights to mine to bring the weight up. I love the balance(feel) and think the ...

Re: Handstops

It seems like handstops are very personal. I haven't tried the Tec-Hro Ergonomic nor the Anschutz Integral, but I have used the MEC exclusively for several years. During my recent prone practice sessions, I experienced the familiar numbness and pain in the web of my hand after 20+ shots while loadin...

Re: Good shooting glove

Has anyone had personal experience with both the Monard Proliner Prone Glove and the Creedmoor NRA High Power Glove , which is actually a mitt? There have been a number of recommendations from prone shooters here and on another forum for the Monard. Yet, in her book, Prone and Long Range Rifle Shoot...

Re: Budget optics for prone rifle?

I had the same dilemma a few years ago and picked up a used steel tubed El Paso Weaver T-16 off Ebay for around $400. It has a fine crosshair with a tiny dot, the turrets track perfectly, and you can set zero where you wish. I cannot always see .22 holes at 100 yards through this scope, but I can se...

Re: Smallbore Stock Width - Survey

1.576" wide for the Anschutz 1918 Precise. If it matters, it is not 1.576" flat across the bottom, but has a 'U' shaped profile. It is quite narrow at the bottom where the hand stop attaches.

Re: Ways of the Rifle?

I own both books and they are both excellent. If you are only shooting air rifle and only standing position, Air Rifle Training and Competition has everything you need. It is newer and more up-to-date. It talks about the SCATT electronic training system a lot, and also has many excellent pages devot...

Re: CMP Sportsman class air rifles, Which one is best and why?

Hi J.L. I think you mean "Sporter" class? I have a bit of experience with two of the approved Sporter air rifles. I have owned a Daisy 887 since November, 2015. It has been on permanent loan to different club members since then. The trigger was pretty heavy and creepy until I performed the...

Re: Removable Scope Options For 54:30

Hi Jeff, I don't have a 54.30, but I have a 1907 and have used BKL aluminum rings with the Anschutz 9" sight rail: http://www.champchoice.com/store/Main.aspx?p=ItemDetailOptions&item=001061 I am still using BKL rings, but with this sight rail: https://www.centra-visier.de/en/products/access...

Re: Smallbore Prone Musings

To determine the largest possible group size to score an ‘X’ or a ‘10’, I took the diameter of the ring and added one bullet diameter (.223 inch), or rather, two half-diameters on either side of the scoring ring, with two exceptions. On the USA-50 I subtracted the diameter of the dot twice from two ...

Smallbore Prone Musings

Group sizes are often discussed in various shooting forums, but rarely does anyone attempt to quantify the degree of skill required to achieve high scores in the smallbore disciplines. I am sure there have been great articles written about this topic somewhere, but I have not been able to find them....

Re: Practicing with Mid-grade (as opposed to match-grade) Ammo?

SK+ is currently my practice and good ammo. I had a pretty good performance at a conventional prone match this summer with SK+, with almost all shots at least in the 10 at 100. If I get more serious about prone, I may have to upgrade. Mostly, I shoot indoors, so I think the SK+ is great. I have used...

Re: MEC Duplex on Feinwerkbau 800 rear sight-help!

Hi Mark, I purchased a 4.0 mm duplex insert with the duplex and lenshood, but have not yet purchased a collimator. Adding the collimator will not cure my initial problem because the lenshood (item 19918811) is 0.468" in diameter and the opening at the front of the sight is 0.445". The lens...

MEC Duplex on Feinwerkbau 800 rear sight-help!

Greetings, I just received a MEC/Centra Duplex and Lenshood II that I purchased for my new Feinwerkbau 800W. I shoot 4-position with this air rifle and have difficulty controlling the occasional unwanted '9' in the steadier positions, which I attribute to cheek misalignment. I was very much looking ...

Lets get something started for an Adult class sporter and precision. CMP Aces Postal, has adult 3P for both sportier & precision. I agree completely and would love to see more 3P air rifle events for adults. There are a couple of national level events that adults can participate in, but very fe...

Does the Centra 57 have a windage adjustment knob on both sides of the sight like their higher end sights?
