Avoid walking in your shooting boots so you can keep the soles flat. When you do walk, waddle so that you don't put pressure on the front of the flat sole. If I have to go somewhere at the range and I'll be shooting again soon, I usually will leave the boots on, but I was always pretty OCD about kee...

How long will you being storing it for?

I wouldn't worry about keeping air in the tank for a period of a week or two, but over an extended time I would empty the tank. I don't think it will really be an issue either way.

Eating a normal amount of healthy food is what has always worked for me. I stay away from candy, junk food, and stuff that will upset my stomach. Not eating before a match has made me pretty uncomfortable, so I generally keep crackers or something with me.

It won't damage the rifle, the only real issue to consider is the movement of the cocking lever as you fire, something that is obviously not present with the breech closed.

Also, i've noticed that it's MUCH easier if they can see a demonstration first. Any amount of words or speeches that you give them about proper position will have trouble competeing with their preconcieved notion of how to shoot.

Demonstrations Help Alot.

One obvious answer: shoot as many matches as you can, the higher pressure the better. All these practice techniques mentioned are invaluable(and neccesary), but it always helps to experience first hand how to calm yourself under tough conditions. Everybody will eventually develop their own method of...

I like to know for sure during practice that my shots are going where I am pointing my rifle. However, with pellets most of the decent brands will probably produce very respectable groups that are more than likely adequate for practice. But also, as pointed out above, pellets are cheap and assuming ...

This is one of the hardest parts of shooting for me. Alot of my practice time was devoted to learning to trust my hold. If you look through the sights and the hold is there, you have to take it. You can't take the time to acknowledge it and say to yourself, "Hey, this looks pretty good!". ...

Like most things in shooting, its personal preference. For me, I would pick up my rifle and with the barrel pointed above the target, place my elbow in its position on my side. Then I would go through the rest of my usual shot proccess, and end up relaxing until the rifle lowered onto the bull, then...

I've used a few different types of slings and I own a Thune UIT II. While it probably isn't the best sling out there, I personally liked it alot and never had any problems with it. Plus, it's readily available, which means alot in the rifle world. It has two buckles so you can adjust them so they ar...

I always made mine as long as possible, which was a pretty standard length since I didn't use any sort of extension tube. The real secret is using the proper front aperture size!
