Re: Experience with Aimpoint T1 mount on Handguns (for S&W 5

Thanks so much. I finally splurged big time for the Aimpoint and want to have the "perfect" 52 sytem, ideally that doesn't add any wear or holes. I do have (2) Ultradot 1" and (3) Burris small reflex sights but all mount with Picatinny/Weaver rail systems. However don't want to rail t...

Re: Experience with Aimpoint T1 mount on Handguns (for S&W 5

oh geez, the mount is for use with a picatinny rail. Idiot me thought you could use in the rear sight dovetail.

Anyone familiar with an Aimpoint micro mounting system that doesn't add weight or bulk?

Thanks

Experience with Aimpoint T1 mount on Handguns (for S&W 52)

Hi,

I'm not that smart, I bought an Aimpoint micro for my new 52 and the T1 "kit" for mounting. I am missing something in how to use this mount/.

Anyone familiar with this mount or in general, Aimpoint Micro mounting options for a handgun?

Thanks in advance, bernie

Re: and now testing loads for a B/E revolver

Late viewer of this topic very curious about what happens. I recently purchased K38 14-4 which has a terrific reputation in the revolver community. I believe this is what the OP has. I too have not achieved the level of accuracy I expected but am blaming my ammo for now. I have 148gr DEWC (this is a...

Tom, are you seating the DEWC's the same depth as the HBWC's, also on the crimp, are you crimping just enough to remove the bell or a bit more than that?

Thanks, Bernie

In recent Ruger New Model Blackhawk the 45 ACP cylinder are too small, reportedly a .450 and should be .452. When reamed to the proper diameter the pistol becomes more accurate with less leading. I own one an it has the described issues. Many folks I know through a reputable forum have their chamber...

Jim, interesting observation on the Blackhawk. The stock trigger is quite friendly. I do believe my cylinders need to be reamed per what others have said related to newer Blackawks cylinders being at .250 when they should be .252. This supposedly increases accuracy and more important, reduces leadin...

Thanks for your replies. I cannot access the other forum at work unfortunately.

Those pics are great!

Question, how much does the scope weigh? I have a few small Burris reflex sights which others say no one uses because it's harder to pick up the dot.

The bad news for all of us is our hand/eye coordination, reflexes and eyesight all decline as we age. As an almost 60 year old novice I don't expect to get very good starting from scratch at my age. I would be ecstatic with the lesser score, so IMO what the best are doing isn't necessarily pertinent...

Revolvers Still in Use for Bullseye

I have spent quite a few $ on 1911's and am not very impressed with myself. Now my hardball Dan Wesson with iron sights isn't a bullseye gun but it's not bad in stock version. My les Baer wadcutter is at Baers being repaired due to a mishap, but in the two months I used it with a red dot, I was not ...

Thanks Tt I did buy Herrett nationals and have sanded various parts down but clearly not enough yet. I went back to slabs for a while but they are feeling too thin, i.e. flat. I boosted them off the frame with a couple layers of thick paper but that hasn't done it for me. I will go back to the herre...

A friend showed me how to disassemble a 1911 and we had to gently pry out the safety, I believe from the outside. Mine was also an ambi safety and each side had 2 "fingers" and they mated with each other filling in the gaps between the fingers. From that exercise I derived that it's easy t...

With so many more shooters today, it's a shame we don't have more NRA members than we currently do!! Most of us are too cheap or too lazy to sign up. Unfortunately the gun control people use that against us in the press: "the NRA doesn't speak for gun owners because members are such a low perc...

Rover I'm not sure what you mean by "straight" grip, i.e. the mechanics of your grip or the actual slabs? The slabs I use are VZ thin grips and have added a couple of layers of paper under the grip to raise the grip off the frame a bit. I have been experimenting with a Springfield Armory g...

Rover, sorry for the late reply, yes it has a red dot, in fact it's a 1911 conversion by Nelson. So I am shooting 2 1911's and it's ok using slabs after my experiment. I have been "pushing" my thumb forward in space. It does not contact the grip. I'm trying to maintain a steady clamp with ...

Very good information indeed. Having a pre-existing propensity for tennis elbow based on past activities, my grip needs to accommodate for sure (and I am over 50) :) I have a hard time keeping my elbow locked and arm rigid. The AMU handbook I downloaded on PDF is probably dated based on the pen and ...

The AMU (Army Marksmanship Unit) says that an instructor would come by and try to rip the pistol out of the shooters hand by the muzzle, that it needed to be held tight enough not to pull out. I guess tightness is subjective in a way. I don't think I grip a hammer as tightly as I was trying to grip ...
