Re: You guys are slippin'!

Don't knock backward pellets they work for me! Taking the time to the limit in a comp and on the last shot dropped a pellet in the Morini and half closed the breech and it hit me - that pellet was backwards, no time to poke it out so shut my brain down again and back in the zone and took the shot - ...

Re: Who went to a compact AP from a full size?

All of the analysis above is spot on especially the moving the C of G rearwards, the outcome witnessed on the scatt along with the punishment of poor trigger, I went compact on both the K12 and titanium, just bought new barrels and short cylinders so in about 10 mins can swap back, the reason I now ...

Re: Ballistic rubber trap

For cost, silence, pellect catching and ease of use you cannot far wrong with the carboard box and rag trap. Don't fire against a rubber ballistic curtain meant to catch splatter from rimfire or center fire as the pellets return to you even if you are firing 25m from it, got the "T" shirt ...

Re: Miracle of 3-d printing, legal or not legal

Your little chalk mark or in my case correction fluid is simpler but could be useful for a making a high 12 aim sight instead of spacers and a longer screw for those who cannot shut away from the black and have to use center hold, but that's a whole different shooting match.

Re: Current Pistol Shooting Glasses Comparison

Do try turning that little lens in it's little holder or even taking the holder off the frame and holding out your pistol on a rest and getting a pal to place the thing in place and then turning it a tad clockwise and anticlockwise and as you would to focus a lens, you may be pleasantly surprised. O...

Re: Current Pistol Shooting Glasses Comparison

Yes to controlling distracting peripheral light and yes also yes to helping head alignment but no to sorting out the wonky front sight (been there got the T shirt) and you are correct it is your astigmatism. You need to go to an optician that is willing to spend the time with you to dial out that pr...

Re: Current Pistol Shooting Glasses Comparison

Completely off subject but I'm intrigued why you want to use a iris for 10m, as you do not want to increase the depth of focus which stopping down an iris does, the people you see using them don't close them down very far and use them to control the amount of light as different venues have different...

Re: Current Pistol Shooting Glasses Comparison

Or do as some top world class competitors do have their shooting prescription put into ordinary frames, it can be a lot cheaper, lighter and more comfortable over long periods that way too, for cheaper use the online suppliers, downside is you may have to estimate a wider Pupil distance (PD) if you ...

Re: Miracle of 3-d printing, legal or not legal

ISSF legality aside the little light dot has proved something to you - if you look at the front sight and not target balh, blah, blah you will group, and over time you will get used to the way you focus is and you will be able to block the hole focus the same and still shoot as well or even better! ...

Re: What is the one thing I should work on to get a more steady hand ?

All joking aside it is good to get used to shooting with loud music playing so that you get used to it being there as we are now competing with loud music at all major competitions - it's an ISSF thing! Some very good advice above, core strength and cardio, no caffeine, resistance training, dry fire...

Re: Steyr LP10 #13 O ring

Polyurethane O rings with a high Shore hardness are better under high air pressure against nitrile or viton with the same Shore number etc, etc. You can have custom rings made if you cannot find the hardness you require, they can even test what you have and produce the same. You don't have to have t...

Some still shot at club level in the UK with the same kit as the French at 10m but also at our National shooting center at 25m with the British Pistol Club using air, infact the BPC shoots sport and standard pistol at 25m with air in their monthly competitions, with no fiddling with power an LP50 is...

Re: Patched vs. two eyes

Some very good analysis here, two eyes work if you can get your head to play ball and is well worth giving it a very, very good go. Huck do not change your prescription to give more focus to the target - you really should not be looking at the target just being aware of it, and putting your lovely c...

SCATT international competition

Hi all As the World is in lockdown and most of us cannot shoot at our clubs the manufactures of the Russian Scatt computer training aid have been running a monthly competition for several disciplines and not just 10m pistol, round 2 finishes on the 16th. All you need to do is register on their site ...

Re: Styer EVO 10 (Manual trigger) Grip Adjustment

Check the four lower screws are on the same plane using a flat piece of steel before putting the grip otherwise it is like a wonkey table, the two back screws should be out far enough to make sure the velocity screw is not the fulcrum at the back. Hold the frame to the grip with one hand making sure...

Re: @ prowling about Inband Target System

There are a few new electronic systems appearing on the market which has to be good but it has not started a affordability war just yet though. A new system I saw a demo of this year is a French designed one, it has no consumables apart from the protective screen that the pellets register on (the ta...

Re: MONTHLY AP LEAGUE, march 2020

We are in lockdown for the foreseeable future and cannot go out, we cannot get a full 10m in the house or shoot live in the house so we are using the Scatt computer system to stop us both going bonkers. We can get 8m distance from the kitchen through another room to the front door and we are using t...

Re: Dry fire

Recreating the fantastic dry fire you can start to achieve at home on a blank wall can be very problematical once you put a target up on the range, you revert to your old ways as if some force is making you do it. So you are capable of a duality - live fire and dry fire but never do the twain seem t...

Re: Electronic targets and lighting

Yes those LED lit targets are bit of a shock the first time you come across them as the LED's are nearer 6000K (wavelength) and approaching daylight frequency and are superbly bright on the mega link. We replace our lighting at our club with LED strip lights for target illumination to get us used to...

Re: Side stance pros & cons

Some really good info here so far. Agree finding your point of aim is difficult and seems to move day to day and during a shoot. In line is used as it puts your eye behind (almost) the rear sight with a straight out arm and a straight (neutral ) wrist, the more you rotate to face the target the more...
