Re: Morini 162EI won’t fire or dry fire

What a splendid simple addition to make getting that board out without doing other damage, it's going on my backup pistol today.
Putting it in vinegar - well I must look that up!

Re: Air Pistol Sighting Problem

Yes it is a light problem, and your lens is incorrect for the indoor range it is all to do with your eye being pulled to the target with the bright illumination and the size of your pupil giving you a different depth of vision. The light on the range may not be bright enough although the target is b...

Re: gip putty or bondo

Completely agree with keeping well clear of WD 40 for a barrier cream and to never use it as a lubricant as it polymerises over time forming a locking gum. My outline of how I do it is not very different to the others but here goes. Take off high spots and the V the area that goes into the web betwe...

Re: US Source for Metric Polyurethane O-rings?

Seeing as you really do want to do the right thing and get it right here is a link to the people I used to use when I lived in Dartford (now live a long way from them) Look at the technical support bar it helps with material properties and nominal sizing and explains how to size from first principal...

Re: US Source for Metric Polyurethane O-rings?

A few years ago a club member had that second problem of feeling air coming from the front off the trigger guard on his Kite, he said he would have a look at it himself before the next session a week later, as there is no backup for them here. He turned up to the next session with it fixed and it ne...

Re: US Source for Metric Polyurethane O-rings?

The eternal "O" ring size conundrum, O rings are flexible and there is some latitude to crossing over to Imperial from metric and visa versa just get one that is the closest in size but be clever about your choice and make an educated choice. In the uk even smallish stockists have the faci...

Re: Goal setting and expectations for beginner

From your attitude and your first scores and the 60 shot you have posted I know you will do well and quite quickly too. Agree with all advice re pistols - especially trying other club members pistols. You may be cross dominant but if you blind your left eye if you are righthanded you may be surprise...

Re: "Sensive" Trigger Blades for Air Pistol?

Gary very good analysis and explanation, lots to be realised and learned by others in there. Gwhite I really see how you are trying to make it work for you and the advice over here from out top coach as you age is to also go for a thinner trigger to bite into your pad more and not "float" ...

Think m1963 nailed it.
Will add, trust your pistol implicitly it is working fine, and if there is any tension drop and reset.

Re: E targets for new range.

+1 for the Spots Quantum targets as our club uses a set of 6, all Wifi so no connection cables, we have ours on stands with wheels so easy to put away, no day to day consumables but you shoot against a polycarbonate surface that needs changing after many thousands of shots.

Re: Aiming too long

The problem can be the two stage trigger as you start to pull the trigger and hit the second stage pause and start to refine your aim and then start the pull and it becomes a jerk as you start the motors running to pull, and pow the shot can go any where. Once you start squeezing the trigger do not ...

Re: Old Style Open Stance Not Often Seen Today

For support in this order bone, sinuses, muscle, find going too wide is tiring and support from shooting shoes and feet has too much outward pressure but whatever floats your boat, normally feet no wider than shoulders for a start point then using the scatt try out different positions but when tryin...

Re: Old Style Open Stance Not Often Seen Today

To really get to the bottom of what stance is best for each individual takes a lot of work and a lot of time and a Gwhite says you need to use the scatt, get it spot on and the result is positive but others can also shoot very well not at their optimum stance but find it more comfortable and their N...

Re: Cross-dominant grips work better?

Grip adjustment is rather a black art and adding plod is the last thing you do in a grip adjusting journey, it must be done in conjunction of with removing material first, it takes time and you will mess up so you will need to go slowly. First thing you need to understand in this journey is you shoo...

Re: Home electronic target options

You can pick up if you are lucky a Scatt second hand, but using it for "scoring" is rather hit or miss if you forgive the pun, what it is brilliant at is analysis of the shot, but for actual scoring you need a target, paper or electronic and you need feed back so the camera idea is nice bu...

I've built one and they are superbly accurate if you do your bit and build it accurately, been using mine for four months now and still over the moon with it, most difficult bit is building the drive for the witness paper but that is not much of a problem if you can make stuff with your hands and ha...

Re: How do you keep steady when heating is off?

At a 25m std pistol comp on an outside range in the winter where most of us were slowly freezing from the feet upwards and my trigger finger was so cold it felt it was burning a Russian competitor saw me struggling and commented "cold was a state of mind" - I use that a lot now but I'm sti...

Re: Gamo compact top scores

In the uk if you do not belong to any club or organisation where you do get to hear of stuff for sale you can look at airgunbbs.com under in the target / competition section and the adds section, many use Gunstar.com if nothing is turning up for them through the normal channels. Both my wife and I s...

Re: Eyesight, sights and iris

Nope, the dominant eye bit was for someone in an earlier post to make them use their other eye, it does need a quantum jump of belief to just focus on the sight picture and the front sight alone and hold it in the light area under the black and slowly increase the pressure on the trigger even though...
