Re: High Shots
Let me ask if you see the high shot go. That is do you call them accurately? If you are missing the call the problem is most likely technique . Some of us has beens call this quiting on the shot or a concentration break. Some refer to it as failing to follow through. I don't know if this will be he...

Yep, those 7's really ruin your day. Thanks Rover :) To answer the first question above, I'm doing a center hold. I've found that I shoot better with a center rather than a 6 o'clock. But possibly that's a self taught mistake which is contributing to my poor shooting. Thanks for all of the other sug...

Drills to Eliminate Wild High Shots and Shooting too Fast
Inevitably, I always seem to have a few fairly high 12 o'clock shots (7's) on pretty much every target - while the rest of the shots are clustered randomly around the bullseye (pic below). Other than concentrating or paying closer attention to my shooting to avoid throwing a few shots each round - a...

Re: Second time around
Hi Joe, glad to see you posting again. I think you are heading in a better direction although the Chameleon was probably not the best sub $500 CO2 pistol in my opinion. The biggest shortcoming of the design was the trigger which is really not in the same league as the other guns suggested. This is ...

RWS Chamber Lube rocks! Thanks Rover. A few drops and it's like I have a different (new) pistol. Now punching clean holes in the (Edelmann) targets with a nice solid 'whack' when the pellet impacts the target. Surprisingly, or maybe not so surprisingly - I needed to lower the point of impact (10m ra...

Right both times. Try RWS Basic or Hobby if you like cheap and good... Meisterkugeln or R10 if you like spending your money. Thanks. Both on order. I went with a tin R-10's, since how could anyone pass them up with the great graphic on the tin :) Plus, they're only a few dollars more than the Hobby...

How to Tell if an Air Pistol Needs New Seals?
Is there a straightforward test to determine whether an air pistol needs new seals? I just purchased a used Pardini K58 and the pellets at 10m don't seem to be hitting the target as hard as what I'm used to with my Aeron Chameleon CO2 AP. Specifically, the sound when the pellets impact the target is...

I've seen FWB 65s go for as little as $100 (somewhat ratty). These are still excellent, accurate guns. I'm certain you could find a K58, my 1st choice in your price range, for less than $500. They are very dependable and not a big deal to rebuild. If someone out there in Television Land has one for...

Joe I have not shot the IZH46, but I've heard that it is quite muzzle heavy. There is another option. Stay with CO2, but go with bulk filled, vs the 12g cartridge. My Walther CPM-2 will easily shoot a full match + sighters + more. IOW well over 100 shots. There are many top end CO2 air pistols (FWB...

You're right...your choice wasn't good enough. If I had $500 to spend I would look for (in this order) a used: FWB 100 series (if you can find one) Pardini K58 Pardini K60 FWB 65 (or 80) with adjustable or custom grips Despite what some people feel, any of these quality pistols would be fully compe...

Recommended sub $500 Competition Air Pistol?
Sometime ago, I asked a similar question and the consensus was to find a good used CO2 Air Pistol. Well, I took the offered advice and purchased a used Aeron Chameleon (B96?) as a step up from a Daisy 747. Granted, many on this board might not place the Aeron Chameleon in the 'good' category. Howeve...

If you're on a tight budget, the Ruger MKIII512 with a Volquartsen grip and sear isn't bad for small hands. I originally was thinking IZH-35, but buying a used pistol in Maryland can be challenging - plus I was concerned about the long term availably of service/repair for the IZH. So, a Ruger MKIII ...

Re: .22 autoloader for beginner
Hi all just wondering what would be a good pistol (.22lr) for learning to shoot the ISSF matches. Any info appreciated!! ADDS If you're on a budget (<$500), then the Ruger MKIII512 with a Volquartsen sear and grip is pretty much the only choice. Unfortunately, the better budget choice - IZH35 is no...

sometimes it is nice to give a look here http://www.egun.de Nice if you happen to be a European. Not so nice if you're an American and unable to purchase what looks to be fairly reasonable priced Olympic air pistols. For some reason, the used prices for the same air pistol are much higher in the USA?

Strangely, Joey, I opened your link, but could not find any FWB P44. I opened all air-pistol related pages, even tried the "search" option, but no P44 showed up. There were P40, P56, but no P44. Did I miss something? The P44 isn't up on the champchoice website yet. At least it wasn't when...

FYI, the new Champions Choice catalog that just arrived in the mail today had a FWB MODEL P44 listed for sale. Nothing on their web site yet.
