Take a look at page 23 of the attached link. https://www.coloradobiathlon.org/forms/CObasic2.pdf You'll see the target from the backside. A hit is recorded by the black metal circles rotating backwards after being struck by a bullet. The big metal sheet with holes in it sets the size of the target. ...

WTB Biathlon Rifle

Because the community is small and my WTB post in the buy/sell forum will get buried quickly, I'm reposting here:

I'm looking for a new or used biathlon rifle, particularly an Izhmash 7-x series or an anschutz 1827. I'm looking at anything from a barreled action to a complete, race-ready rifle.

Izhmash Action Question

What is the difference between the Izhmash 7-2 barreled action and the 7-3/4? Could I drop the 7-2 barreled action into an Izhmash 7-4 stock to build a biathlon rifle? Is it even possible geometrically and, if so, what would be the performance implications?
