Re: Shooting after premium lens replacement eye surgery?
It's been almost six months since my surgery, and everything's gone well. I ended up going with TECNIS Eyhance lenses because my clinic wasn't able to get AcrySof IQ Vivity lenses for both of my eyes and I wanted them to match. My left eye went from -10.5 to -0.1, and my right eye from -9.75 to -0.5...

I use this TEC-HRO mount at 4m and it works great: https://tec-hro.de/schiesssport/en/scat ... it-20.html

Re: Shooting after premium lens replacement eye surgery?
Just a quick update: my surgery was rescheduled to January 26 and I've opted to go for distance correction (plano) in both eyes. I experiemented with mini-monovision (or blended vision) using contacts over the holidays and didn't like it at all. It messed with my (aleady poor) depth perception -- go...

Shooting after premium lens replacement eye surgery?
Does anyone have any personal experience to share about having premium lens replacement (or refractive lens exchange) eye surgery and how it affected your shooting? I've read lots of articles and discussion threads and watched more YouTube videos than I can count, but haven't been able to find any r...

Re: 2-stage Bix'n Andy trigger adjustment advice?
That's exactly what I did -- followed the instructions, that is -- but the trigger is still less than impressive.
I'll see if I can connect with them -- thanks.

2-stage Bix'n Andy trigger adjustment advice?
I have a new rifle with a 2-stage Bix'n Andy Remington 700 Competition trigger and I'm struggling with the second stage adjustment. No matter what I do, there's no resistance for the second stage -- it just pulls straight through. I'm trying to set it up to match the Anschutz 2-stage trigger on my 1...

Re: Walther KKM-GX! upgrade
Is there a Tesro dealer in Spain? They offer drop-in stocks for Walther KK200/300 and UIT actions. This link is from the Canadian dealer: https://www.tesro.ca/rifle-and-pistol-accessories/smallbore-rifle-accessories/stocks/tesro-smallbore-stock-evolution-20-signum.html This might be an option for yo...

Re: Rear sight mounted lens question
I understand all the impacts of vertex and distance -- my street glasses are -9.75R and -10L -- everything is fuzz without a lens in front of either eye. If I'm still going to need a +0.50 lens to focus on my front sight (as a baseline), do I need to keep the extra +0.25 that I currently have to acc...

Rear sight mounted lens question
Is anyone using a rear sight mounted lens instead of shooting glasses? If yes, did your prescription change? http://ahg.anschuetz-sport.com/bilder/Produktfotos/9451_D1.jpg?maxwidth=800&maxheight=600 The lens in my shooting glasses is +0.75 over my street glasses prescription (0.25 for the extra ...

Re: IOC, the ISSF & the Extraordinary General Assembly
It's so the ISSF can tick the box that says "yes, there was a process of consultation". Oh, and so a bunch of hangers on can get a free trip to Munich with accommodation and meals thrown in! No, it's so that the ISSF can say that they complied with the requirements of their constitution a...

Re: Sight Picture
Are you using actual shooting glasses or regular glasses? If you're not using them, get a pair of shooting glasses (Olympic, Knobloch, MEC, etc.) before going any further. Based on Art's advice, I had my optometrist add +0.50 to my regular prescription and +0.25 on top of that for the increased dist...

Re: Loading from the shoulder - Anschutz 54.3 versus Wal KK5
Okay, but you'll still need to lift your elbow to adjust your sights -- it almost seems like a wash to me. But maybe I'm missing out on the "marginal gains" argument . . . ?

Re: Finding NPA after each reload
When I was struggling with my elbow position I had a friend tape a box on my shooting mat around my right elbow. I used a mirror to check to make sure my elbow went back into the box after reloading. Dryfiring and reloading with my eyes closed helped me focus on the physical sensations without the d...

Re: Centra pro 57 rear sight
I have two: one for prone and one for kneeling and will likely buy another for standing. Clicks are solid and it appears to track well but I haven't measured it with a micrometer. I think they're a great deal for the money.

Re: TRIGGER HAND GLOVE
I like my Sauer glove because a medium pistol grip is a touch small and a large pistol grip is a touch big -- the glove makes the medium grip that I have more comfortable. I just can't bring myself to putty up my free rifle stock. . . . And I'm Canadian so the glove provides a little bit of insulati...

Re: butt plate
I like the Gemini for the facility to position to two halves of the plate separately; not everyone needs to, the plates can be set vertically in line, but for me offsetting the heel and angling the toe allows a better fit. I'm with Tim on this point -- non-shooters think my prone buttplate is a tor...

Re: SCATT MX-02 calibration question
Thanks, Martin. It appears to be hanging up after the shot replay. I checked and unchecked that box in the program options menu but it kept freezing on me. Very puzzling as my wireless SCATT never gave me any issues at all.

SCATT MX-02 calibration question
I've upgraded from a wireless SCATT to a new MX-02 and was tinkering with it this afternoon in the backyard at 25 m. It was a royal pain to get it on target but once dialed in it worked as expected -- except that I had to recalibrate it after every shot. I never had to do this with my wireless model...
