I'm with laxratnd. The plastic fishing line doubled up and pushed through and a patch put in the eye and drawn back. My 700 FWB likes Vogal also but only one size 4.49. I have tried all the other sizes and brands and it is the only one goes in one hole.

If you are going to get some Vogals. I would suggest the 4.49 size. That is what shot the best of all the pellets I tried in the 700 we have. As to the site it is pretty bullet proof. It has a piece of spring steel attached to the eye piece and is always under tension on the adjusting screw the repe...

The stuff that I used to buy for practice was CCI standard velocity blue box. It worked great in my daughters 1913. It was as good or better that eley practice. I saved the Eley tenex for the matches.

my theory with my Daughter was the same as hand gun shooting. The change in grip pressure with a handgun will change the impact point of the bullet. So I taught her to use the least amount of pressure and weighted the rifle so there was none or very little muzzle weight. I figured the least amount o...

My daughter shot an AR 50 pro for a long time. She won 3P air junior nationals with it. At the JO though while on the line it failed to release air. I had to take it from the line and work on it and get it back to her so she could Finnish the match. 10 ring service looked at it but could not find an...

If you want to keep it in the stock you can get a hold of Newt Engle in Ohio. He makes a neet test rig that works for air and small bore. Some one out there has his e-mail I'm sure. I have lost it.

The only reason that I use a lube on the threads is that the torque reading will be higher with dry threads than with some oil. The name of the game is consistency and it always seemed that the dry threads would grab a little. The torque measurement required to put the bullets in the same hole was a...

you will have to tighten and test and keep it up until the bullets go in the same hole. The harmonics will be different with different barrel lengths etc. Be sure to put a little lube or oil on the threads of the screws or the torque values will not be accurate

I did a lot of testing with a 700 FWB and the only pellets that would go in one hole were the Vogol 4.49. Those are just my results with this gun. May be different with yours

We ave always just told the inspectors at the baggage that there are 2 rifles in the case and have them in a cotton sleeves and when they want to see if the rifle is empty we just pull the sleeves back far enough from the butt to open the action and thats all they see. never been asked about air gun...

A great air gun no dought. I found that the 700 is a bit mussel heavy especially for a small person. I had to add a lot of weight to the rear to move the center of ballance further back toward my daughters support hand. The rifle does not come with extra weights so you may have to make your own if t...

pellet size

the sizes of pellets are not all the seem to be. A 4.49 from one manufacturer will not mic the same as one from another. The only true way is to shoot all that you can get your hand on. I had to shoot R10s - H&N , anschutz and vogel in all the sizes that they make and finnally settled on Vogel 4...

grunig stock

my daughter shoots one in ncaa 3 position. She likes it a lot. I machined some knobs to replace the allen screws that tighten the knobs for the cheek piece and the but plate adjustement. They are real handy and it is easy to make an adjustement while in position without reaching for a tool. if that ...
