Re: Embarrased and Clueless
Cannot understand how you would damage a chamber this way. Same here ... all you would do by racking the slide on a loaded gun is eject the chambered round and chamber the next round in the magazine (assuming there was one). Are you referring to firing on an empty chamber and damaging the chamber f...

I'm 54 and suffer from retinal issues so I like the thicker insert. It's easier for me to focus on them. I don't have dedicated shooting glasses. Thicker inserts do cover up more of the target area, which could be a problem w/ multi-bull targets or even getting on your own target if shooting distanc...

Well, it's on ... The 5899 sight that Mr. Haire was so kind to send me is on the Buck. I just used the existing upper stock screw to attach the sight. It is tipped downward a bit at the rear ... but hey it's an adjustable hole that you can look through, and it's working great! I did have to cut off ...

Re: LP400 failure
... at the very least I would have expected confirmation that they have received my pistol and this has not happened yet (7 business days). Did you send the package with delivery confirmation? It's typically the senders responsibility to arrange and pay for this (if wanted) not the recipient. I fee...

Thanks gentlemen for your responses. I understand factoring projectile size when scaling targets. The highpower reduced targets do this, I doubt it's done with the Ian Pellant software though. now that I'm thinking about it. I'll pull my calipers out and see if this is so, Thanks for the guess of 10...

Score differences with 6m targets ...
Hello all, I'm just really starting to play the 10m game. I've shot highpower silhouette, OTC and LR for years. I've used a Walther LG210 for standing practice but the focus has always been improving my standing scores in OTC shooting and silhouette. Now I'm getting serious about 10m. I'm using Ian ...

I agree with justadude, It's premature to purchase a rifle for someone at the pro-marksman level of shooting, especially when he has a perfectly functional rifle he can use from the club. For a lot of reasons: You don't know that he is going to stick with the sport. If he does stick with it, you don...

Hi Texas Shooter, I hear you but ... My daughter weighs 42 pounds (19kg) and has physical limitations from some pretty severe birth defects so even 3 pounds (1.4kg) is a bit much for her. That would be equivalent to a 170 pound (77kg) adult hefting a 12 pound (5.5kg) rifle. The 2 pound (.9kg) Daisy ...

Hi TimS, I don't really think we are in disagreement here, I think we are falling prey to short explanations of complex issues. Trying to fit into a small text box has its limitations! Would you agree that the LOP's primary goal is to adjust for a proper trigger reach? (this entails shoulder to spin...

It sounds like you have properly set your LOP for your trigger side arm length. You want to comfortably reach the trigger without having to twist or strangely conform your hand / wrist. From how you describe your hand position, I'd leave LOP alone from here. You really don't care where your stock we...

This is a long shot. See if you can find an old Diana 70 or the recoilless 72. These look to be perfect for her … but finding one and then affording one would be a problem. Why not use an unweighted 499 ... I’m trying to do with what I already have, and I’m worried that the rifle would be too front...

There is a wide variety of hand-stops and slings and I'll bet if you get 10 shooters to answer your question you will get 10 differing answers! I've shot will all sorts of combos, it really comes down to individual comfort and taste. I'm very tall and broad, so I use a large diameter round stop on m...

Don't guess. Go to the TSA website, print several hard copies of their rules for travel with an air gun. Go to your air carriers website. Print several copies of their rules (carriers have some latitude in amending / adding to TSA rules). Pack a copy of the rules in the gun case. If your case is ope...

How difficult is it to remove the firing pin? If it's easy, as with a .45 just pull the pin during practice, leave it on the bench in front of you and make sure it goes back into the gun as soon as practice is over. Are you sure you can't dry fire the kit? Does the firing pin actually hit the chambe...
