Re: Dead Morini Air Pistol Electronics?
Hello all, Tried a known working module from another 162EI yesterday, with no success. For clarification, with the module out of the gun and with fresh batteries, what pattern should I see on the LED? If I have the correct pattern on one module, I'm moving onto the micro switch. Regarding that, does...

Re: Dead Morini Air Pistol Electronics?
The next step in this saga is to swap the electronics module from a working pistol into this one and see what happens. While I have done this a number of times, a related question is what is the preferred method of removing the installed module without damaging it? I recall someone telling me long a...

Re: Dead Morini Air Pistol Electronics?
Hello all, I have two electronic modules that have failed. Both were giving the multiple fast blinks and then nothing. I tried new, fully charged batteries with no success. One of the modules had residue from battery leakage, and I was going to follow cerami's instructions for immersing both modules...

Re: Home made grips?
Hello all, A good friend of mine, an AP and FP competitor, took on the challenge of making this grip. He is doing a great job, and we're wondering about the best finish for the grip. I've read about Tung oil, Danish oil, etc. Wondering what the recommendations are from this board. Looking for someth...

Re: Home made grips?
Hello all, We have decided to make a grip for this young lady. It is nearly finished, and I think it will be a huge help for her. However, and I might be imaging this, it seems to me that someone posted something here about how they transferred the exact contours of a grip (or other item) to an uncu...

Re: Home made grips?
Thanks, William.
I met both Don and Arnie early in my ISSF shooting career. Both great people. It's a shame they're not with us now.
I had already downloaded Don's terrific advice a number of years ago, and I will go through it again.
Thanks again.

Home made grips?
Hello all, I am glad to be back here after being away for much too long. :-) While I am working to return to shooting myself, I have begun training my granddaughter in the sport. She is enthused about it and shows great promise. I have only two APs with which to do her training - a Morini 162 EI and...

Steyr LP5 air leak
Hello all, After a number of years in a closet, this lightly used LP5 CA has developed a leak. The short story is both cylinders hold air just fine. It's when they are fully screwed onto the pistol the leak begins. As best as I can tell (by feel), the air is coming back through the firing mechanism ...

Recommendations when filing for a 501(c)(3) charitable org?
Hello all, A small group of folks here is considering opening a training and competition facility, and we're of the opinion we should have a 501(c)(3) charitable org set up so we can take donations that may be deductible for the donor(s). After checking into this, the process appears to be tedious a...

Re: ISSF Rule Corrections
Hi David,
Is there a link to the latest version? The English link on the ISSF site only points to the previous version.
Also, did anyone ever see a clarification about whether or not colored sights on a pistol are now against the rules?
TIA
Stan

thinking that it was a misspelling and was all about putting shims under AP front sights. ;-)

Re: Feinwaerbau AW93 vs Pandini SP .22
if you go down that path you should've mentioned that Pardinis WIN nearly every ISSF final^^ I've fixed your spelling mistake. I see your point. And, I'll add two more comments: 1. I've watched several important and unedited ISSF RFP Finals lately, and I do not recall seeing any malfunctions. There...

If this rule, as currently drafted, prohibits anything other than completely black sights, I really hope that someone will come to their senses at the ISSF. I say this for several reasons: 1. It is absolutely inconsistent to restrict pistol competitors from having minimal sight color changes when ri...

Pistol sights
A summary of the changes in the 2017 rules is now on the ISSF web site. Hi David, Regarding this rule: Pistol Sights. Fiber optic and reflecting color sights are prohibited. What is your opinion about whether or not this prohibits simply painting or adding colored dots to the black sights on a pis...

Chinese air gun manufacturers?
Hello all, I have a friend who is currently in China, and he wants to visit some of the more reputable Chinese air gun manufacturers. I know the lower cost air guns coming into the USA are usually made in China (isn't everything?). But, he thinks some of these companies also make higher-end products...

Scoring .30 to .38 or 7.62 to 9.65 mm in ISSF CFP?
Hello all, I used to know this, but I can neither dig it out of my old brain nor find the answer in ISSF/USAS rules. The current rules allow for calibers between 7.62 and 9.65 mm (.30 to .38) to be used in Center Fire Pistol. Most shooters use a .32 or .38. When I fired this event many years ago wit...
