Without the buttplate and carrier, the length of the rifle with the barrel extension is 42 inches. This is for the longer barrel rifle. Convert to metric as needed.

The current Weaver T-24 is good. They have a fine crosshair with a dot and track well. The newest side focus ones are more expensive, but I have seen them on sale under $500. I have one of the older AO ones and I like it a lot. They are discontinued, but maybe you can still find one or get one used....
