At local events I notice several of us new guys have the Barska Blackhawk 18-36x50 scopes attached to our shiny new Strong Case boxes. There are probably better units available, but these are on the market now. I always unmount mine and wrap it in the towel I use on my shooting stand before storing...

You really don't need that much scope to see 50 yards. Look at what the other competitors find satisfactory. Rover, Thanks for the assessment ... I did not realize that a sub-$200 scope was overkill! As for observing others ... I'm currently shooting Sportpistole with my German club in Bavaria ... ...

Scope Size for BE Box?
TT, I am getting ready to buy a Strong Case 3-Gun (SRC-1608) box and would like to get a decent scope to go into it (able to range out to 50m indoors and outdoors). Right now, I've been looking at the Celestron Ultima 65, and want to make sure that this scope will fit into the scope bay of the Stron...

Which Vogel pellets for Baikal 46M air pistols??
I am going to be placing an order for a left-hand grip to supplement our new Baikal AP's. I would like to order a bunch of pellets. Which ones are known to work well with the 46M? I'd really like to use the Vogel Sport pellets for now, since we need something that we can get a lot of at a low price ...

Cheapest source for several IZH-46M pistols for School Team?
I am the team captain of the Pistol Team at a large University. We are a club sport with a limited budget. I contacted Pilk, and they have no IZH's in stock, nor would they have been able to discount them if they had. Where would be the best place for me to place an order for several IZH air pistols...

What is the going price for an MCP Beretta? Having shot through a season with my Clark Custom 1911 Hardball, I have realized that the many thousands of rounds I have through my issue M9 have truly conformed my body to shoot the Beretta better than the 1911 (especially one-handed). I shot very well i...

How do I get my kids into USAS Progressive Pistol??
My wife is finally on-board with me starting my son (8yo) in competitive shooting. He is safe, will listen, and is familiarized with several of my 22LR rifles. I would like to get him into the USAS Progressive Postiion Pistol program, but I have no idea if this is something that is only found in a f...

Best fun yet "serious" air rifle for 6yo Cub Scout
My son (a Tiger Cub) and I attended his first Cub-A-Ree this weekend, and BB gun shooting was on the menu. They were using something like a Crosman 760 pump fitted with globe sights. I am proud to say that not only was he the only Cub to hit the 8.5x11 target sheet (at 10m, from the prone) with his ...

Re: LEGAL: Ownership of air pistols in Germany??
Last time I was there was in 1992 and US Forces WERE allowed to have personal firearms...no German license needed. Check out the new regs: http://rmv.hqusareur.army.mil/190-6/190-6.htm Heidelberg had two 25 yard ranges, a 50 yard range, a 100 yard range, and a few skeet fields. I haven't had a chan...

Re: Training Pistols
The LP50 should be good for one handed 'bullseye' practise That's just the info I'm looking for. Something else to consider might be the Walther CP88, they are 8 shot CO2 capsule powered pistols. Quite low velocity, and not much good beyond 10m, they also seem to wear out quite fast, but they are v...

LEGAL: Ownership of air pistols in Germany??
I am planning on purchasing a Steyr LP50 (w/ 1911 grip adaptor) to allow me to continue training for Service Pistol competition (and heck, maybe I'll start competing w/ the air pistol) in Germany. I am pretty familiar w/ the rules surrounding the Waffenbesitzkarte (WBK), and the reason I don't have ...

Tell me about the Steyr LP50 . . .
I am in the US Army stationed in Germany (for over a year now) and still have not been able to acquire a WBK (Waffenbesitzkarte) as a Sport Shooter. As such, my Hardball pistol, my 22 target pistol, my IPSC pistol, etc, all remain locked up back in the USA. I really want to get something that I can ...
