Re: Pardini HP 32, ammo talk
Jakub; My understanding is a 32 ACP barrel is typically .310 to .312 and a 32 S&W Long barrel is typically .313 to .314. The 32 S&W Long was designed for the 25 yard (European market) and most do not perform well at 50 yards (USA outdoor Bullseye). Custom 32 S&W Long barrels with a faste...

Re: Tell me about your 32acp experience.
I should add a correction. The Hornady XTP bullets will hold the "X" ring at 50 yards which is better than the 10 ring I mistakenly put in my previous post.

Re: Tell me about your 32acp experience.
I have a Pardini 32 ACP and use T&B 62 SWC bullets in it. I find it to be quite accurate at 50 yards and very mild recoil. Once I made the magazine modifications (use 22 springs and pinch lips) and put in a 22 recoil spring, the reliability is near 100%, but you do have to clean the gun about ev...

Re: Pardini HP 32, ammo talk
Tom; I am glad to hear things are working for you. If your friend (master) is shooting 94/5X and 96/5x slow fire with your reloads, they are probably grouping well (inside the 10 ring). Your friend is probably thinking he can make high master with your gun. Your .314 X .318 expansion plug causing a ...

Re: Pardini HP 32, ammo talk
tomv; I have been out of the country the first half of May and have not been checking this forum. I had my .314 X .318 NOE expander (rifle expander) tapered down before I started using it, so I can't say if it made a difference or not. My thought was without tapering, more of the case would be expan...

Re: Pardini HP 32, ammo talk
Tom; The second tier (.318 portion) of the expander plug goes in the case about 1/16th of an inch deep. Remember, your taper crimp die needs to remove this expansion. I start with a smaller expansion plug and hand screw the expansion die in until it makes contact, then slowly keep screwing the die i...

Re: Pardini HP 32, ammo talk
Tom; You will want to use a CNC clamped toolhead for the sizing and expanding dies. The reason is to better line up the cases for primer insertion on the Dillon 550. A side benefit is the expander die(s) will be closer to true center. The exact dimensions of your sizing die is not critical since you...

Re: Pardini HP 32, ammo talk
Tom: You are very close to what I am doing. You probably do not need to size the new starling brass the first time as you are expanding it beyond new dimensions. I always do just out of habit. The starling brass may be a little thicker than the Remington I am using, but you should still be okay expa...

Re: Pardini HP 32, ammo talk
Oldcaster; I am using the plastic Arendondo powder bar. It will adjust to well below 1.5gr of VV N310, but below 1.5 the consistency between charges starts to vary about .05gr or more which is a lot with 1.5gr or less charges. I tried UniqueTek's powder baffle and that allowed me to go down to 1.4gr...

Re: Pardini HP 32, ammo talk
Last summer I used 1.6gr of VV N310 for my COAL of .854 to .855 with T&B bullets with good results, plus I did not need to change my sights between 50 yards and 25 yards (with 1.7 gr or higher, I needed to lower my sights at 50 yards). However, as I got better with my 32 ACP I ended up adjusting...

Re: Pardini SP Bullseye Edition ammo choice
When I purchased my Pardini SP BE in 22 about two years ago, I tried it with CCI Std Velocity since that is what I had on hand and had been using with my S&W 41. Vladimeer (from Pardini USA) told me CCI Std Velocity would shoot well in my pistol but would likely not feed reliably due to being a ...

Re: Pardini HP 32, ammo talk
Yes, I have experienced the same thing. With T&B bullets, I load them such that the full diameter of the bullet portion sticks out past the mouth of the case about the thickness of my thumbnail (or about .010). Any more and the bullet jams into the rifling and it takes some force to reopen the b...

Re: Pardini HP 32, ammo talk
I should also add, Travis from T&B told me his bullets have a BHN of 14 when I ordered my first batch of 1000. I have had good results with them, but a softer lead would probably improve those results.

I have good results with T&Bs 32 ACP lead SWC bullets and I plan to order 1000 more soon. I will have to call him tomorrow.

Re: Pardini HP 32, ammo talk
T&B is short for T&B Bullets (www.tbbullets.com). They make and sell a 62 gr lead SWC bullet for 32 ACP.

Re: Pardini HP 32, ammo talk
Wes, I have not experienced bullet setback while feeding when I expand the case to .314 for a .314 bullet. The case springs back a little (.0005 to .001) when expanding so you have some friction when inserting the bullet, but not enough to reswag the bullet to less than .314 which is what we are try...

Re: Pardini HP 32, ammo talk
OldCaster has a good point about not expanding new brass too abruptly. Since I have a Hornady expander die (.311 or .312 hard to measure) I got for reloading Hornady XTP bullets, and a .313 NOE Bullet Moulds expander plug with a Lee Universal expander die, plus my custom made .314 expander plug, I u...

Re: Pardini HP 32, ammo talk
Since my sizing die is .332, I use my expander every time. I am not resizing much or expanding much so I do not think I am overworking my brass. I do not know, but base upon what others are saying, if you have a custom .334 sizing die and only use one gun, you can probably get by with only using the...

Re: Pardini HP 32, ammo talk
I am using T&B bullets with good results. I am using a .003 oversized sizing die from Lee (what they had in stock at the time). Lee tells me the standard 32ACP sizing die is .329 and .003 would take it to .332. My Remington brass has a side wall thickness of .01. So with a .314 bullet, I would l...

Re: Pardini HP 32, ammo talk
Dave (fc60): Am I reading your posts correctly that you are using a .325 inch taper crimp? .325 seems small when you consider the bullet diameter is .314" and the wall thickness of the brass is about .01" (my R P brass measures about .01). .314 plus .02 (2 X .01) equals .334. I am using th...
