Hi Victor.Very interesting. Are you sure the half-inch shortening of the spring is not just normal "run in" wear?Have you asked pardini about this?Maybe I´ll check mine as well,I´ve had the pistol since jan. and put around 4-5k rounds through it. I don't remember who it was who told me thi...

Now why do you change the recoil spring every 3000 rounds if I may ask?
The recoil spring seems to shorten about 1/2" after that amount of use ... I'd rather play it safe (replacing a $10 part) than risk breaking the frame.

I'd still be shooting an old Walther CP2 if getting CO2 wasn't such a hassle where I live. I think that your Walther (providing it fits your hand and you like the way it balances) can take you very far. I'd set a goal (e.g. scoring 550 in a match) ... then reward yourself with a new air pistol when ...

Paul, I'll answer your question about spares. I try to keep - Several recoil springs. Change them every 3k rounds, don't let them go any longer. (Note - this is for the SP ... don't know how often they should be changed in an HP) Firing pin & spring Extractor & spring That is about all that ...

I'd like to take a moment to thank everyone who contributed to this thread ... it is great to see a thread about the process and NOT equipment.

This thread is one that is going to be printed out and put in my "Big Binder of Shooting Wisdom"

Could you be overtraining? How long are your practice sessions?

I don't shoot more than a match worth of pellets per training session.

Also, are you allowing sufficient recovery time per shot attempt?

Victor

Thanks to all that replied. I just wanted confirmation before investing valuable training time that it wasn't a 'dead-end' technique. It is clear by the response here that some have found success using center hold ... but that, of course, doesn't guarantee that it'll work for me ... but I'm going to...

is center hold a viable option?

I shoot air & standard pistol and was wondering if center hold is a viable option. I've shot 6 o'clock hold for ~15 years ... What peaked my interest in this is that I shoot highpower rifle as a diversion and was struggling in standing until someone suggested center hold ... I tried it and WOW ....

Victor, Have you measured the diagonal of your garage? If your garage layout allows, you may be able to set up close to 10 meters. A 24' x 24' garage will get you close to 30'. The diagonal on a 24 square building is 33.9 feet on the outside corners. (This all depends on the width of your stance. A...

Re: how do you set up your Pardini SP counterweights?

I was just wondering how folks set up their Pardini SP counterweights? Do you use none/2/ 4 of them? Do you put the spring in front or behind the weight? Are the standard counterweights made of tungsten? Or are the tungsten counterweights a special order item from Pardini? I'm just trying to set th...

Re: Cleaning with a pull through

Don Nygord used to sell a air pistol cleaning kit. Consisted of some patches, TS-301 (for use in the bore), CLP (for exterior use) and a nylon pull through. He commented to me that the little bit of cleaning that an AP needs is best done with a pull through. I perform this once every two tins on my ...

Re: 5 meter reduced air pistol targets?

Depends on the intended application of the target... The ISSF Air Rifle target 'black' is near as all get up half the diameter of the black on an ISSF Air Pistol target (within 1 mm). If all you are after for training is the group size (and as a coach I could rattle on for ages on the problems with...

Future of the IZH-35

Just got off the phone with EAA and the sales rep stated that Baikal doesn't seem interested in manufacturing any more of the IZH-35 ... Perhaps the batches that EAA imported weren't fresh production, but came out of a warehouse (much like the last 10 years of new TOZ-35s). Anyway, I sure hope we so...
