Thanks for the comments, I think the performance is tightening up. I've attached a photo of a 5 shot group from last night at 25yds. I'll just keep putting ammo through it and see what happens.

I echo Tim's comments on cleaning the crown, it's undoubtedly causing the issues you're experiencing. There was another advantage to batch testing for me, I discovered that my 1813 barrel was knackered! I then bought a secondhand 1913 action and my scores instantly jumped up by a 2 point average. I would never have known otherwise.
