Powder for 0.32 S+WL

My personal experience with 0.32: N310 meters better and burns cleaner than Bullseye. HBWC are very hard to load for, over or under pressure and too high or too low a velocity and they just don't work. Lapuas are the best HBWC - if a bit soft A key part of loading for 0.32 S+WL is to get the right s...

Humidity

'I take the precaution of only refilling cylinders indoors, in a warm/low humidity environment.'

You need to be careful, you are thinking of relative humidity rather than absolute humidity.
Your warm dry air probably has more water in it than cold dry air.

New Gun/Old Gun

I should have added, once you reach a reasonable standard it is indeed worthwhile getting a state of the art new pistol where you know everything is working, the barrel is undamaged etc. ~550 might be about right. Until that time I believe you will learn more and quicker from a more basic pistol. Ac...

New Pistol

The flagellist in me says stick with the old pistol until you are sure you have really reached the limit of the gun. If you want to score better in the short term maybe a new pistol will give you a few extra points. Probably the points would then fall off and you would be back where you started If y...

Nose Heavy

Personally I have always found a nose heavy pistol hard to use. Technically, we did some tests with a Gamo Compact (light and weighted to the rear) and a 'typical' air pistol - long air cylinder and heavy front weights using a Rika type system. The light pistol was much steadier on target, although ...

Does anyone know of a supplier for IZH35s in Aus?
I'd be interested to have one for the collection.

Training Pistols

The LP50 should be good for one handed 'bullseye' practise, I had an LP5 which was fine for 25m. Something else to consider might be the Walther CP88, they are 8 shot CO2 capsule powered pistols. Quite low velocity, and not much good beyond 10m, they also seem to wear out quite fast, but they are ve...

Target Air Pistol

You should do better with something like a Steyr, its by far a better pistol. Bear in mind the balance point is completely different, on the Gamo its well to the rear, on something like the Steyr its well forward, and the grip is more raked. This does not suit everyone, both factors put a lot more l...

Tremors

I found it helpful to move my wrist around whilst holding a weight, eg take aim, keep arm steady, move hand up, down, left, right, circles left, circles right etc. I think this will lead to better conditioned nerves+muscles, and better hand-eye coordination than just staying still holding a heavy we...

Hi David,
Good to hear from you also!
I reckoned the FAS 602 with the Match 2 weight was just a bit heavy, which was why I went for the Match 1.

Grip fault

Come to think of it: "when i ups my hand after taking grip it becomes loose " This would suggest the grip is indeed too small, just not long enough front to back, and there is not enough support at the back between the thumb and trigger finger. When its hanging off your fingers its ok, whe...

Its hard to diagnose by email, but it sounds like the grip is too small and not filling the palm of your hand properly. Also there may be too much contact under your first knuckles and not enough with your fingers and heel. It could also be the heel rest is adjusted too tight, which is a common mist...

FAS607 or Pardini SP for Standard/Rapid

G'Day, I'm looking for a new standard pistol (to replace the one I had to hand in in the UK). I think I've narrowed it down to the FAS 607 or the Pardini SP-New (mechanical trigger) My old FAS 602 gave many years of good service, but was not really ideal for Rapid Fire, how does the 607 measure up? ...
