If I am using 3.6/3.7 BE over a 185 or 200gn swc for short line how much higher does the elevation need to be for long line?
2-3 inches?
For some reason my pistols don't like 4gn bulls-eye and group a little better at the lighter loads.

Re: S&W Model 41
I have of a brick of cci I traded for that marked target and it's in a orange and blue box I am thinking it's the predecessor to green tag.
I would agree the cci in the plastic box seems to be a hair better.

S&W Model 41
Seems like the best Ammo for the S&W Model 41 is CCI Standard judging by what people say. In times of scarcity my guess is CCI would rather make MINI MAG and more expensive Ammo. So in addition to CCI are there any alternatives to CCI SV? My guess is SK Lapua and Wolf work but I would appreciate...

4.5 200gn lswc is a little heavy for Bullseye, a #14 should work #16 might work #12 is what I use with my les Baers using 200gn or 185 gn lswc and 4.0 #11 I will try tomorrow with 3.6 to 3.7 shot line loads. Try Bob marvel website for the scope mount problem is the slide is not round. BULLSEYE GEAR ...

Re: Colt NM 38 Special
In a CF match you can shoot the 45 for the first two Slow fire matches but decide between 38 and 45 for the National MC and sustained fire.

If you live in PA or NJ Old George is good a real bulls eye guy and if its not a big deal you can bring it in and he may be able to fix on the spot.
Carell's 45 Shop in Mt Bethel, PA (near Stroudsberg).
Give George Carell a call at (610) 588-0199 and let him know what you need.

Does the Nelson hold under an inch at 50 yards? I heard nothing but good things from them.

Dvorak 22lr conversion
A friend suggested I try a Dvorak conversion over a Marvel for a new build. I understand they are a very good Kart clone. So my question is does anyone shoot either ND can they hold under an inch at 50 yards from a ransom rest?

Re: Hammerli Xesse Trigger Guard Broken
I sent the gun to Larry, seems that trigger gaurd to frame fit was not done properly at the factory.
Larmy is great and really stands behind the product he sells.

Re: need iron sight advice for 1911 target use...
If you are trying to get a clear view of the target and the post at the same time it's impossible and that not how it works. If you focus on the front sight correctly the target will be blurry. I agree a sub six hold for bulls eye is the way to go as white background with proper sight alignment prov...

Re: Real world accuracy tests-Volquartsen barrels vs stock
Les Baer Wadcutter is a good value if you don't know a good smith that can build you a new gun under 3k
Another idea is to get a Les Baer Premire shoot it for a while and then get it accurized.

W231 is a very dirty powder , I don't know if they have a recipe but for similar results I would try VV320 as its performance seems very similar to 231?

Re: .45 long line to short line load change.
I use 185gn Zero HP SWC Swagged. I load 3.6 to 3.9 gn bullesye. I wold not shoot 3.6 at the long line. I have started going with 3.75 gn Bullseye prints almost as good as 3.9 and the recoil is a less snappy and I don't think it will be any worse on the long line. I use a slide mount with a #11 sprin...

Re: Real world accuracy tests-Volquartsen barrels vs stock
I have an Xesse and its very accurate but I would not recommend it owing to quality issues since Walter took em over. Otherwise its every bit as good as the 208's I have shot. I switched over to a Marvel as its its reliable on the right frame and if enough care is taken in fitting the magazines. GSG...

Re: 1911 grips for Xesse
The Xesse grips make my forearms hurt as shooting a 45ACP with rink grips made it hurt. Did the 1911 grips on the xesse help with that?
