When I worked up my settings for the JHP, I determined my OAL by dropping it into my barrel and checking the spacing, and landed at 1.205". Should I also do this same method for lead, where the base of the brass case is almost flush?
I am starting with a 185 grain SWC bullet.

45ACP, difference in 185 vs 200 gr SWC bullets
I have been only shooting JHP 185's so far. I would like to experiment with using lead at the short line. I am not sure what the pros and cons are between the 185 gr and the 200 grain SWC bullets.

Re: Pardini HP 32, ammo talk
The Hornady bullet is actuallyy too small. No,lead bullets smaller then 0.314" have had any succes, to my knowledge. Some of us are even running ours closer to or at 0.315".

I casted my own version of these. Excellent results. I recommend anyone who is loading for their Pardini 32acp, to order some and try.

Re: Spotting scope use
This was a great thread. Good strong opinions with no insults. Ice job everyone. My experience is this. I've only been shooting two years. Made master rather quickly and have been working for over a year to go High Master. One thing I was doing on rare occasion is not look down the spotting scope on...

Re: Camp Perry online registration?
I just called the NRA competitor office. The answering machine said that the Camp Perry online registrations will begin in April, with no exact date, so probably soon. I earned a 1/2 off entry voucher for winning my class at a regional last year. Does anyone know how to redeem that? Do I have to mai...

Camp Perry online registration?
Anyone have any idea when a Camp a perry registrations will start to be accepted. I signed up in February or early March last year. NRA Still shows "not accepting" at this point.

Re: 32ACP vs 32 S&W Long for centerfire
The Old Caster bullets are not being made by anyone yet. the ones I casted at home were holding 1.6" - 2" off the bench. I tested some more and one in 10 started having a flier. Out to the outer 10 or 9 ring. I am now pretty sure that I was loading them just a bit too long. I shortened the...

Re: 32ACP vs 32 S&W Long for centerfire
i think they are equals and each require one major thing. The 32acp requires making your own lead bullets to be the 1" gun at 50 yards. The 32 S&W requires a Barrel with a faster twist to be accurate enough at 50 yards. The 32 acp development has been moving along and I believe commercial b...

Several 41 shooters at my club all shoot SK standard plus. Affordable, usually available, and super accurate even out to 50 yards.

tune the mags as described, and use 22 mag springs......and it'll be your favorite gun.
That's all I did and mine runs perfect with any ammo and all loads.

Re: Pardini HP 32, ammo talk
Over the past three weeks, I put about 250 of these Oldcaster rounds thru my HP. I took it down today and took a good look down the barrel. Not a single sign of leading with this combo (0.314-0.3145 sized bullets). There was some minor coating inside from the lube and powder, but it wiped right out ...
