Re: FAS 607 - weak extractor?

On a blowback pistol the extractor does not usually do much anyway, so I would not attribute that to your failures. You may find removing the extractor will improve things. Is the chamber totally free of carbon? Looks like the cartridge is not seated to depth... Swapping between cartridge types can ...

Re: New Pardini, need to get a grip!

1.5kg weight (milk jug) attached to a length of rope wound around a bit of broomhandle. Hold it out arms stretched. Palms down. Wind it up and down slowly from ground to shoulder height. 10 reps x 3. Twice a day, 3-4 times a week until you can strike with the force of a thousand suns. https://www.yo...

Both. I quite strongly think good trigger management is linked to confidence in sight picture and hold.

In my experience for Air Pistol the marginal 9.0s and the near miss 9.9s roughly balance out to an average result.

I suggest searching using Google. This topic has been covered a number of times here. If you use the following search terms you will have good luck. site:targettalk.org barrel length compact AND air https://www.google.co.nz/search?q=site%3Atargettalk.org+barrel+length&oq=site%3Atargettalk.org+ba...

Re: Impact of holding exercises in the match

Most match directors should provide space on a separate range for holding exercises. Any holding should just be to wake up the muscles, so nothing crazy. I wouldn't stretch, personally. I don't think you should be exerting any force that you wouldn't do in your match. Getting tired during your match...

Re: Specifications for Red & Green Lights for 25m Pistol Tar

You could get a TP roll, poke a car stoplight bulb in it, and then rubber band over some coloured cellophane then have a couple of transistors to power the lights from a car battery with a 555 triggering the timing intervals.

Re: Specifications for Red & Green Lights for 25m Pistol Tar

To the best of my knowledge there are no rules about the size, placement, or arrangement of timing lights in ISSF rulebook other than they must be Red and Green; also approved by the ISSF. They are about the size of the bottom of a can of fizzy drink. 65-70mm at a guess. Some Narva boat navigation l...

Re: 10m air pistol velocity

There is no magic number, in short.
It is observed that there will be nodes of performance for any given barrel, and projectile; across a given speed range.

The only way to really know what works (and what does not) is with empirical evidence.

Re: Setting up an air sports club, what would people like to

Spenser might be able to dig up the design specs for an IOC range, most modern IOC ranges follow the 'Sydney' footprint and this document might have lighting design suggestions. European clubs probably do it the best. My list would involve in no specific order. Conforms to rules Sufficient lighting....

Holy necropost. Caps have a usual rated life. You could pretty easily get it replaced with a nice new one. I have never seen a 152 board, can you post some detailed photographs? If new caps don't fix it then it might need a 'reflow'. Odds are you could take it to a vet/dentist with beer money to hav...
