In my opinion it doesn't really matter what you use for practice.

I use Gamo match for practice and use Meisterkugeln for matches.

Both brands of pellets put 10 shots through one hole when shot from a vice in my FWB P30, although the Gamo pellets make a slightly larger ragged hole.

My wife uses a CM22 and it has functioned pretty well flawlessly since it was purchased 6 months ago.

As far as I can see the bugs have been ironed out.

By the way it has a great grip adjustment for cant and point.

Look for consistency especially the consistent application of a consistent shot process - and this means practice, lots of it. Not just going through the motions and shooting but as some other TargetTalker said "making every shot a loved one" - I love that quote. Once you have a consistent...

My wife shoots a LP300UL (Ultra Light) and it has been fine in all respects. There have been a couple of issues with the cylinders sometimes discharging themselves when they were unscrewed from either the gun, tank or pump. Walther replaced the cylinder, no questions asked. The problem is still ther...

How about just using a minimal taper crimp that the normal Lee bullet seating die can do. Works fine in my semi-auto Walther and consistently does clover leaf groups at 25m from a vice. If you are going to use a roll crimp what effect will it have on the cases after a few reloads. Will it work harde...

Am still making up my mind but in the meantime I have borrowed a Morini. The trigger sure is crisp, no movement at all before it goes off. Generally I think I like the Morini as Steve indicated there are less things that need work to keep the Morini shooting out of the box. I would like to experimen...

Toz 35 or Morini 84E

What are your thoughts on the pros and cons of each of these free pistols? I currently have a Toz 35 but it is in desperate need of a new grip, so I am tossing up whether to buy a new Rink grip for the Toz or jump in the deep end and buy a new Morini 84E. My Toz also suffers from light strikes of th...

Mark What are the reasons for selling the AW93 and moving to a Pardini for Rapidfire? Recently I got a detailed tour of the AW93 and the recoil management systems that are used, I was dubious as to whether these happen quick enough for Rapidfire. What are your thoughts? I currently use a Walther GSP...

My plumbers putty is about two inches thick and catches the pellets easily in the first half inch.

The more you shoot without cleaning out the pellets the bigger the hole and the deeper. The pellets have never made it through the putty as they keep building up on themselves.

Just a curious observation.

I shot a 40 shot match today and have done a few times to try and compete with my wife. I shot a 377 today and regularly shoot 370 plus in a 40 shot match.

How come my best ever in a 60 shot match is 559!!!!!!

Regarding the Free Pistol WR someone I know told me recently that "Those were different days back then" It doesn't answer any questions but makes for a nice way to sum it up, and you can make of it what you want. The way I see it is that we will never know and really does it matter, there ...

Plumbers putty is what I use it was white originally.

Called duct seal in some parts of the USA I think and also grey.

Go to the pumbing or hardware store and ask for plumbers putty that doesn't go hard and act dumb.

Good luck

The rankings make interesting reading.

There does not appear to be much depth in USA pistol shooting.

Are the rankings a true indication?

Go with a Lee Turret press, I load 15-20K of ammunition on it a year and it goes well, needs a bit of cleaning and lubrication to keep it smooth. Keep well away from the Lee 1000 progressive. I would choose the Lee Turret over any single stage press. Haven't tried a Dillon but find it hard to justif...

Use the concious mind to trigger the subconcious. Treat it like a computer where you use the mouse to start a computer application like Word and then the computer does all of the work before you give it another command. So for the shot process use the concious mind to go through the triggers/prompts...

For you knowledge management guru's out there is another way to look at the shot process and the concious and sub-concious, tt is to treat them as explicit knowledge and tacit knowledge. Explicit knowledge is when we learn something new, we concentrate on the process in detail to exhibit and practic...

Centre hold is an option, I did it recently for a Standard match as I was too lazy to change the sights from my Rapidfire settings.

Centre hold works well in good light but I suspect that if the light was dull it may be hard to distinguish the front sight properly.
