Re: What rifle
Tom, currently having a new barrel fitted to a Match 54 will cost £600-700. So once you get your FAC/rifle, it's worthwhile shooting it as is for a while to see if it really needs a new barrel. If you'require buying a used Prone rifle, I'd suggest giving it a really deep clean first and replace the...

Re: What rifle
Just for information purposes . I shoot a match 54 , professionally bedded . A Harrell tuner , with a 36x Leupold Competition scope. Ammunition is Eley Tennex , $20 a box . My front rest cost $950 and bags in the rear. I also have a 6mm ppc . It is great to shoot , but lots of work to load . Not sa...

Re: What rifle
I've learnt a lot already. I already had a yearning for the Anschutz Match 54. Didn't know about having to hand load own ammo for the 6mm, that doesn't appeal to me much given my personal time constraints what with work etc. I'd prefer to use a scope with the 'Annie', is that the norm for .22 Bench ...

What rifle
I'm currently shooting 10 metre air pistol and have been thinking for a while about going into Bench rest. When I buy, I want a nice rig that is going to last me and deliver on quality. I'd be grateful for some advice on calibre (have read that 6mm is best), what sights do I need, I've seen lots of ...

Re: Gehmann 188 Target Holder
The first one I had was cheap, my new one is a NiteHawk - never heard of them before but it has a very good build quality to it.

Re: Gehmann 188 Target Holder
I've just received my second holder, my first one actually started to let pellets through - right in the centre. Going forward, I've squashed a tin can under foot and rested that against the back plate to take some of the punishment away. I started shooting this morning and can see that I'm going to...

Re: Left Right Spread Issue
One mistake a lot of people make is to only start their final squeeze AFTER the pistol has settled. By the time it eventually goes off, you either rush it, or you start wobbling & lose focus (and then rush it...). You need to start applying pressure as you are coming into your hold so the shot ...

Sports psychologist
Anyone recommend a good sports psychologist in the UK for help with 10 metre air pistol. I'm happy with my technique, competition nerves are really spoilng my game, I've read lots of books but when it comes down to it - can't shake the nerves.
Thanks in advance

Wonder what the wear and tear would be like on the barrel?

Re: painful shooting hand
Hi thanks for the replies, sorry it's taken me a while to get back. I was bricklaying for over 30 years, so I suppose there's an element of wear and tear in trowel hand but it has never surfaced until now (haven't set a brick for a few years since I changed my job). My grip was modelled to my hand b...

painful shooting hand
Have started to experience severe pain in my shooting hand, I can see if it gets worse that I may have to pack my shooting in. I shoot 10 metre AP with Morini 162EI. Anyone suffer similair problems?
Thanks

Hi
In training, I'm scoring around 555, a good night is 559, bad night is 550. I've promised myself if I can reach 570s (in training) then I'll buy me a Morini 162EI titanium. Just can't seem to get away from this plateau. Haven't got a coach, all self taught.
