BIL
A few days ago, I reported that I broke the bullet insert lever (for the third time). Yesterday's mail brought a replacement from my dealer. I fitted it last night and took the gun to the range today for testing. The MG2 functioned fine with Eley TP, and CCI standard velocity ammunition. However, so...

Windage adjustment
Robert, No, the adjustment is not backward, it's just that the markings on the sight are confusing until you get used to them. Looking down on top of rear sight assembly (with barrel pointed away from you): On the left hand side of the top, there are four separate symbols. -Furthest from you is an a...

CM80 Super Competition
In defense of the CM80, I must say in all the years I owned and shot one, nothing on it broke. The mechanical trigger was a delight. I found it better than the one on my Toz. There was a vibration upon firing but that was the sliding weight and its cantilevered support rod which lies below the barre...

Success
Yes, I got those troublesome screws loose. I tried the T10 Torx bit (which is closer to an M2.5 hex than an M3) as Tor suggested. I did hammer the bit somewhat aggressively (for such a small bit) and I can see that the tip of the Torx bit deformed more than the socket in the screw head. I think it w...

Torx
Tor, Thanks for the picture and the description. I had tried a T9 Torx bit, which fits into the 2 mm hex socket fairly readily. However, even with light tapping to set the bit into the hex socket, it ultimately spun in the socket (the screw did not move), albeit after being subjected to a pretty hef...

BIL
Thanks for the offer of your spare, Mark, however Harvey Lavigne (at AirGunsOnly) said, yesterday, that he was putting one in the mail for me. I should have it in a few days (Canada Post willing). As to the breakage, the lever is cracking right at the pivot point, on the underside of the lever. I ha...

Thoughts on drilling the screws
Thanks to all who suggest drilling the screws. However, if I drill the head of the screw off, then I'm left with just the threaded body of the screw in the tapped hole. It is the threaded body of the screw that is frozen in the tapped hole. I really doubt that any significant portion of the body wil...

MG2 woes
"Pride goeth before a fall." Well, I had been boasting about how well my MG2 was functioning. Today, on the first shot of the fourth series of the 20-second stage, the bullet insert lever (BIL) broke....again. That's the third one (and it was the "improved" design). It's becoming...

Hex bits
Thanks for the lead to the short hex bits by Chapman. I intend to get a set.
Left hand drill bit? Here I thought I was pretty familiar with tools, but that is a new one for me. Makes sense, though. Learn something new every day. (Now I am good for two days!)
Regards,
Mike T.

SPnew frozen screws
Thanks for all the comments and suggestions, fellows. Let me address them: Ernie suggested an E-Z Out and that will be an option if I can find one small enough to fit the tiny (2 mm) hex socket of the screw. However, short of drilling out the screw, that will be my last option. I've been reluctant t...

Looking for help with Pardini SPnew
SP owners will know that the adjustable counterweights that fit into the barrel shroud are retained by a top plate which is held in place by two small cap (machine) screws. These two screws must be removed in order to gain access to the counterweights and springs. On my SPnew, these screws are of bu...

Square vs open
Terminology is still confusing me. Paul wrote, "In baseball, basketball and tennis for instance, the more squared the shoulders are to the objective we are watching (the pitcher, the basket or the tennis ball) ------the more OPEN the stance is considered." Does not the term, "square t...

MG2 extraction
MG2-Skeptic: I filled a magazine with dummy rounds (commercial items, made from solid aluminum) and cycled the action very slowly by hand. In every instance, the extracted round flipped out of the gun when the base of the (dummy) round contacted the ejector. In every instance, the first contact of t...

Island ISSF
Jesse, Hopefully there are some closer, but there is a good ISSF range at the North Saanich Rod and Gun Club. That's a bit of a drive from Comox, but good highway all the way. The BC Provincial ISSF Championships will be held at North Saanich on May 19th, 20th, and 21st. Air, Free, Rapid, Standard, ...

MG2 feeding problem
MG2 Sceptic A number of we MG2 owners are dismayed at the problem you are having and want to help as best we can. I don't know all the things you have looked at or tried and I don't know your mechanical expertise, so please forgive me if I mention things that are obvious to you or things that you ha...

Support for definition

Closed vs Open
Thank you for the clarification, David. That is how I thought it was but I had received a contrary opinion. Through reading your posts on TT, I have confidence that your statements are based upon sound knowledge and extensive experience. That, plus the corroborative support from Steve Swartz and dhu...

Stance - open or closed
Today, in a discussion about coaching, we were talking about stance. I wanted to know what is an open stance and what is a closed stance. It seems that no one present was sure. I've been told conflicting information. So, I'm looking to a wider audience for a consensus. Consider a right-handed shoote...

Movement per click
Checking on the Potters Firearms site, in the compendium of information regarding target pistols, I see that movement of the POI at 25 m for one click of the sight varies from 15 mm (elevation for TOZ 49) to 5 mm (windage for GSP). The GSP has 7 mm change in elevation for one click at 25 m. The Hamm...
