Re: Toz-35 barrel

Larry's Guns had barreled Toz actions for pretty cheap, maybe you could go that route?

Free pistol arm/head positioning

I've noticed while watching some of the Olympic and World Cup videos, there seem to be two basic forms. One has the head upright, with the arm angled up slightly, to bring the sights up to eye level. The other seems to keep the arm straight out, with the head tilted down and forward. Is there an adv...

With Anschutz rifles, I don't think of all the adjustments as "things that could go wrong" even though technically, more parts equals more potential failure points. I haven't heard of them failing, and I certainly haven't had problems with any of mine. I'd recommend getting an old 1413 and...

I bought my Hammerli 106 from him personally, we chatted in the shop while the paperwork was going through. My interpretation of "new" is that it had never before been sold to a customer. Now that it's been sold, they'd probably have to sell it as "used", and take a loss.

Just about anything is possible if you have an EDM to burn it out. Lacking an EDM, I'd say go in with a boring head, then offset the boring head from the centerline of the bore opening to the left. Or, leave bore straight all the way back, drill through hole on right side down at an angle. (I'm unfa...

How about a Hammerli 120? That's probably about as much of a "beginner free pistol" as anything else out there. They're also usually several hundred dollars less than a used 104/106. I know you mentioned having a Benelli, so this will be a different grip angle, more of a 1911 angle, I beli...

I'm definitely pro-2nd amendment, and am getting fed up with all the interference with our sport. However, sometimes I just want to read up on technical issues without getting all riled about the liberal BS.

I have a Pardini K60 that I got off the classifieds here. I went to a local homebrew supply store, and got a 5lb tank there. When it runs out, I can just swap it there for a full one. My adapter that came with the pistol screws right onto the tank.

It looks like an old 80s-90s Anschutz free rifle buttplate, I think it's the 4762. I've seen them on Ebay.

I think Larry's Guns has some grips you might be able to adapt. There's always the option of making them yourself, Igor's blog has a good writeup about pistol grip making.

So if a pistol were to be striker fired, that might be better to set it up as a free pistol, as those have locked breeches?

I've wondered about striker vs/ hammer as well. Rifles seem to have good trigger pulls, and they're striker fired. Some day I'd like to try designing and making my own pistol, and the trigger is a pretty significant part of that.

That's quite the set of sight risers there. Is there a limit on how high over the bore they can be?

I have a 540xr, got it for $275 in a 540x stock, exposed bluing all brown, with sights, sling, and handshop. Definitely a bit rough, but it's a good shooter, and more accurate than a rifle that cheap should be. I don't know what the trigger weight is, but it's fairly light and consistent. I can't ad...

OK, thanks guys. The way my range is oriented, the sun comes from behind the firing line in the afternoon, which is when I'm usually there. If one polarizer works, I'll just swing the other one out of the way. I'm looking forward to taking it out and trying it. Just need to rain to stop, and the sun...

Use of rear iris polarizers and filters

I just picked up an Anschutz 9565 rear iris off ebay, and am trying to figure out how to use the polarizers. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find any sort of manual for it online. According to the Anschutz description, it has full polarization, and dual polarizing discs. Is this one of the models tha...

Check with Larry's Guns. He's probably your best bet. He told me that he has enough spare parts to build a bunch of the old Hammerli free pistols.

Thanks for the replies. It's possible that I was tired and/or dehydrated. I had just gotten of an 8hr OT shift at work (machine shop). This isn't a problem that I always have, so hopefully it's not astigmatism, as I'm 25. Should I get an adjustable rear apeture? I really don't know how to make sure ...
