I see no basic problem with a Ruger as they can eventually be upgraded by several good mechanics. We used the Rugers and HiStandards at the USMMA and they made fine target pistols. No it's not a Pardini , however I shot a S&W41 and Hi-Standard in Standard Pistol and had no problem keeping ahead ...

I owned a 69U and I still remember the differences were top loading in the 96U and I believe the gun was designed for small hands and a lighter weight than the 69U. It used to appear in the hands of women shooters more often. I sold the 69U after the factory was raped by the new owners with spare pa...

My Bad---my befuddled old brain---wrong magazine---the SP mag base has a wee little circle on the base----use a drift pin and push it down while you push the mag base forwards over the depressed "circle", once the base is over this depressed spot---keep pushing the base forward with your h...

There are two breeds of CM22M's---the ones that work flawlessly and the ones that rarely work flawlessly. IMHO it's a crap shoot, mine worked flawlessly out of the box---still don't remember why I sold it, unless it was when I had 208s fever.

With the Model 41 the threads are English---with the Morini grips the threads (if provided would be metric ?). Additionally if you are trying to use the Model 41 screws you probably need longer screws---if I am reading you correctly.

In answer to Elmas---I could prbably offhand quote around ten or more New York State shooters who can and do shoot .45 in the 290++ region and quite often shoot in the 540 area with the Free Pistol and 560+ in AP. But comparing Big Bore shooting and FP & AP---is as quoted above apples and orange...

Nicole, as far as the IZMASH is concerned that gun is a beauty and I wish it was made a bit larger for use as a target rifle. I always admire the Russian target arms as they are relatively cheap, not finished off with all kinds of pretty stocks and parts---however they are quite good. I don't like t...

Whether your iris is on front of the lens or behind the lens is a matter of a few millimetres----what is of most importance is that the iris be at centre of correction for your glasses. The tendency with the Merit or Gehmann irises is to place them in the wrong location on the lens as far as centre ...

I use the Iris on the Champions----the trick with the adjustment is to decrease the aperture of the iris until the target appears sharp then back off slightly and the front sight will stand out and become easier to focus on. I have also noticed in recent years when using the blinder---If the blinder...

Jaybar hit the nail on the head---the Bluebook on Gun Values---says almost the indentical prices. Of course with the original box, gun book, mags and the gun in 90% or better would bring the price up there to around a negotiable $750. Try this link http://www.histandard.info/

Hi Nicole, welcome to the Centre Fire experience. There are some who do use a six o'clock hold for Precision Fire and change their sights for the Duello (Rapid Fire) portion. I use Centre hold through all my shooting AP, FP, SP & CF. I use the COM to aim in Duello and it works well enough for me...

Just sort of an Add-On to this stirring & controversial thread---I saw my first SSP, while I couldn't shoot it, the store owner (a friend) allowed me to handle the gun and dry-fire twice. The gun is interesting and feels light to me , the factory adjusted trigger however is IMHO mediocre, at bes...

I personally feel that the lid will remain closed on Pardini's "New RF Gun" until just prior to the Baeijing Olympics. Schumann has always been very innovative with his RF pistols, though I found the old Schumann to be "clunky", of course neither do I expend 250,000 rounds in pra...

They are supposedly here stateside and some have apparently bought the gun, but as you said---we haven't heard a peep in months after the original furor. I can understand the hesitancy regarding a "new" gun as the SSP. Having owned a Domino (FAS) top loader, it was somewhat fussy about amm...
