Re: Starting new Jr air rifle group

I tried another semi recent attempt at getting an air rifle group together at my local gun club. This was the return message. "After discussing our conversation regarding air rifles and the possibility of a program with the Club’s Executive Committee and Chief RSO, there was a consensus that wh...

Re: Standing and Kneeling position questions as a sporter

Good questions, 1) As a beginner, you need to get accustomed to your own breathing methods, gentle slow relaxing breaths. Do as many as 8 to 10 , maybe 12 at first start of target, as you get a few shots off, you may reduce the number as you get into the swing of things. But IMO, as a beginner, to d...

Re: How do you stop beginners from obsessing over the sub 6 hold?

1) Have them shoot at a blank white 8 1/2 x 11" piece of paper, and tell them to simply shoot for the middle. This will be easy and relaxed, then look at the group sizes. Another spin on this method, to try after the first method has been thoroughly practiced, is draw a small black sharpie circ...

Re: Olympic rifle overview- Video for beginners/educating public

Watched entire video, very good informative video for new want to be rifle shooters.
I would add that there are a lot more lower cost ways to get involved/exposed/introduced to 3 position rifle shooting than he states.

Bicycle Biathlon

Have done some searching here and internet, on Bicycle Biathlon. Finding that it exists out there in the world, but not that much information on it. I have a few possibilities, Air rifle with, as of now 2, maybe 3 ranges on a 7 mile gravel road loop. Possibly with permission, a very large Mt bike co...

Re: Changing risers on FWB 800X…?

Not completely sure what damage has been done, 1) hex has been stripped out, 2) threads have been stripped out. So you need to get everything removed and apart. Dremel cut wheels/cut bits, work well with skill. Cut a slot in hex for removal. Small drive pin with hammer for screw removal of stripped ...

Re: Starting new Jr air rifle group

Hi RB, Thank you, and I completely agree with and understand your points. Long history of Standing of air rifle for myself, dating back to FWB 601 in 1988. And I too once did not shoot air rifle, thinking if I am driving to a range, I am shooting the 22 smallbore. But air rifle is a whole different ...

Re: Shooting Range Setup - Basement

Very easy and affordable, Rubber chip mulch, (shredded auto tires), at Walmart off season price approx $3/bag. Fill a carboard box with this. Or fill a cardboard box with many layers of cardboard. Both these method are very quiet, as the pellet is not hitting a steel plate. With minimalized pellet d...

Re: Starting new Jr air rifle group

The opportunity to make this happen still exists, however, am coming up with zero candidates to even look at the equipment. What seemed to be positive interest was all just talk , no action. I may set up at the location, for myself, and my son to go to during mid winter close to home place to go , f...

Re: Breaking in a new jacket and pants kit.

Stiffness is a big topic of discussion, there was a rule change a few years ago that increased the possible thickness by close to a factor of 2. The original thickness is still available, but now x2 thickness is available. Also if your interested, look at the procedure for material thickness test. C...

Re: Breaking in a new jacket and pants kit.

My opinion about this, I do not want to break it in. Have a pair of Gehman trousers for more than a year, using them daily, that have yet to be folded and just stand them vertically in the corner when not using them. As far as coats go, shoot with it, and it will naturally conform to your needs, try...

Re: experiences FWB 900 alu?

Most FWB 900, from what I have witnessed, come as standard size. You can special order a smaller size stock, I believe the rear portion is shorter. This order is done on the FWB order form. It is one of the boxes that you check. This form is on the FWB web site. Special order will require a possible...

Air Rifle Biathlon

Hi All, This is my first post in Biathlon related thread. I have a lifetime of experience in smallbore and 10 m air rifle. For the past 2 1/2 years have been completely concentrating on standing 10 m indoor air rifle. Training at least 1 hrs in evening 7 days a week. With that said, I have been alwa...
